He clarified that the divergence was a \u201cslight disagreement\u201d \u2014 whereas the president wants a national regulatory approach, Donalds believes \u201cthe states do need to lead.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI understand what the president wants to accomplish, I really do,\u201d Donalds said. \u201cBut being on Capitol Hill, man, it\u2019s so difficult getting good policy through that place, especially with the United States Senate. They can\u2019t even pass the SAVE America Act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Florida, in his view, is properly suited to enforce its own regulations over AI, as the state has a \u201cstandard when it comes to business regulation that is common sense.\u201d Some of the possible state regulations he pointed to were minor protection, a greater say for parents, and the ability of people to protect their name, image, and likeness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked further, Donalds voiced some sympathy with Trump\u2019s position, speculating that his concerns were most likely centered around California.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe already know what California does,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019re stupid. They don\u2019t even know how to do this stuff right. We don\u2019t want to see New York leading the way. I mean, Kathy Hochul didn\u2019t even know that the Chicago Bulls won the NBA title in 1993. So, you don\u2019t get a say on economic policy on something this large.
