The move puts it ahead of competitor OpenAI in the race to go public, which analysts say could matter as investors might potentially be reluctant to fund two major AI IPOs simultaneously occurring.  <\/p>\n<p>The filing begins the SEC review process, but Anthropic hasn\u2019t set the number of shares or the IPO price, and it noted the offering would depend on market conditions. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/apple-promotes-hookup-apps-to-children-report-finds\/\" title=\"Apple Promotes Hookup Apps to Children, Report Finds\">company recently announced<\/a> a massive $6.5 billion Series H funding round and saeid the filing follows it&#8217;s efforts to expand research and infrastructure, with an earlier estimated valuation of $965 billion.  <\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees Dario and Daniela Amodei,Anthropic presents itself as focused on AI safety and reliability. It is indeed also facing a dispute with the U.S. Department of War over whether it will provide services related to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-weaponization-of-artificial-intelligence-poses-an-ethical-dilemma\/\" title=\"The Weaponization of Artificial Intelligence Poses An Ethical Dilemma\">lethal autonomous weapons<\/a> and mass surveillance, and the conflict has drawn strong political reaction, including a directive for federal agencies to stop using Anthropic\u2019s technology. Anthropic\u2019s filing begins the SEC process, though it does not set a concrete timeline.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of shares to be offered and the price at which those shares will be offered have yet to be set, according to the company\u2019s press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe proposed initial public offering will depend on market conditions and other factors,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/news\/series-h\">announced<\/a> last week that it raised $65 billion in Series H funding as part of a round led by the firms Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital. Series H rounds are late-stage opportunities for venture capitalists to invest in mature companies, often before those companies go public.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anthropic\u2019s announcement gave the company an expected valuation of $965 billion. A public offering would give Anthropic a cash infusion that would continue funding its research and infrastructure blitz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anthropic was founded in 2021 by seven former OpenAI employees, led by brother and sister Dario and Daniela Amodei. Anthropic <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/company\">bills itself<\/a> as an \u201cAI safety and research company.\u201d The San Francisco firm states that its goal is to build AI systems that are \u201creliable, interpretable, and steerable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To that end, Anthropic is currently embroiled in a dispute with the Department of War, which alleges that the company is unwilling to offer its services for lethal autonomous weapons and mass surveillance.
