Jean Carroll\u2019s lawsuits against President Trump. If the \u201cpaper of record\u201d is going to keep acting like DOJ investigations are only legitimate when perpetuated by Democrats against their enemies, then Trump\u2019s \u201cretribution campaign\u201d should continue for as long as it can.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1006715768\" class=\"d-flex justify-content-center fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 fdrlst__b89e9-entity-placement\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>News broke Wednesday that the DOJ had opened <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/05\/29\/reid-hoffmans-left-wing-antics-go-far-beyond-bankrolling-e-jean-carrolls-anti-trump-lawfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a criminal probe involving Carroll<\/a>, who has told a hysterical tale that includes allegations of Trump, well before he was ever president, having raped her at some unspecified date (in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-justice-department-is-backing-trump-in-e-jean-carroll-defamation-suit\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Justice Department Is Backing Trump In E. ... Defamation Suit\">department store fitting room<\/a>, mind you). The DOJ hasn\u2019t officially acknowledged any investigation, but the Times reported Thursday that the probe centers not on Carroll but on the nonprofit organization that assisted in funding Carroll\u2019s litigation.<\/p>\n<p>The Times laughably claimed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/05\/28\/us\/politics\/justice-department-carroll-hoffman-lawsuit-trump.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">its report<\/a>, authored by Glenn Thrush and Benjamin Weiser, that what makes this DOJ target so unique is that Carroll, \u201can author and columnist, never sought a public role, political power or governmental authority.\u201d Maybe someone should tell Thrush and Weiser that to be a published author is by definition to seek a public role. And of course she wanted political power. She even did it the way all Democrats have done for the greater part of the last 20 years: She claimed to be a victim, thus earning herself fame, authority, influence, and money.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no question that Carroll\u2019s rape allegation, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/18\/e-jean-carroll-recounts-her-trump-rape-allegations-in-hilarious-new-book\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as unbelievable as it was<\/a>, harmed Trump politically. She said that after the two giggled and gallivanted all over a department store in notoriously sleepy Manhattan, the two of them stumbled into a predictably empty, unattended fitting room, where Trump forced himself inside her, an incident she initially refused to call a rape because \u201cmost people think of rape as being sexy\u201d and \u201cthink of the fantasies.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"YiWu5dLg4FfyD2SMsoIQTmKc6a7VOGZX0eH8r3CwnvbzExjlJ1P9hpUk\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Just a reminder that Trump&#39;s accuser E. Jean Carroll once told Anderson Cooper that rape is &#8220;sexy&#8221; and a &#8220;fantasy.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>\u2026and it creeped him out so much that he cut her off and threw to commercial. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KU9Ir6KJ2u\">pic.twitter.com\/KU9Ir6KJ2u<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tim Young (@TimRunsHisMouth) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TimRunsHisMouth\/status\/1747275861810929772?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 16, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Then, using a brand-new law in New York that turned back the clock on the statute of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >limitations involving sexual assault<\/a>, Carroll sued Trump in a Democrat-heavy district where it was impossible for him to get a jury that wouldn\u2019t find him liable. After all, he still needed to be punished for winning the 2016 election.<\/p>\n<p>The trial was itself a joke. Trump\u2019s defense was forbidden from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/02\/15\/judge-rejects-trump-offer-of-dna-sample-in-carroll-rape-defamation-case.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">introducing<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.ca2.60504\/gov.uscourts.ca2.60504.176.1_1.pdf#page=62\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">evidence<\/a> that would have crippled Carroll\u2019s credibility, which is what her entire case rested on. He predictably lost.<\/p>\n<p>And Carroll\u2019s saga is just a piece of the larger Democrat conspiracy to either zero out Trump\u2019s finances or put him in prison. They\u2019d prefer both. Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg sued Trump with an argument whose logical conclusion was that it was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/12\/alvin-bragg-kicks-off-another-frenzied-lawfare-trial-with-weakest-case-against-trump-yet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">illegal for Trump to have even run for president<\/a> in 2016. Democrat Attorney General Letitia James <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/22\/if-a-president-can-have-his-money-and-property-snatched-by-his-political-opposition-this-isnt-a-free-country-and-we-dont-have-fair-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sued Trump<\/a> for engaging in business deals that resulted in no victims. Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/16\/fani-willis-is-daring-you-to-call-her-angry-because-race-baiting-is-all-she-has-left\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prosecuted Trump<\/a> as if he were a gangbanger because he questioned the results of the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s supposed to be out of the realm of decency that Trump would return the favor with his own investigation.
