exodus of legal talent\u201d as \u201ca bad thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe people that are leaving are Radical Left Deep State Lunatics, who are destroying our Country, and Weaponizing Government,\u201d Trump said. \u201cWe want people that will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, not people that are trying to destroy our Country, that were put signed an <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/establishing-and-implementing-the-presidents-department-of-government-efficiency\/\">executive order <\/a>creating the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/department-of-government-efficiency\/\">Department of Government Efficiency<\/a>, an initiative led by <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/elon-musk\/\">Elon Musk<\/a> that sought to \u201cmodernize federal technology and software\u201d and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3236779\/musk-ramaswamy-reveal-top-four-things-know-about-doge\/\">broadly rein<\/a> in a federal <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/bureaucracy\/\">bureaucracy<\/a> that Republicans have long argued is too large. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The effort was originally conceived as a legal reform initiative to be co-led by <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/vivek-ramaswamy\/\">Vivek Ramaswamy<\/a>, who <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3294404\/vivek-ramaswamy-will-leave-doge-considers-run-ohio-governor\/\">left the department<\/a> to run for governor of Ohio that January. In a co-authored <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/opinion\/musk-and-ramaswamy-the-doge-plan-to-reform-government-supreme-court-guidance-end-executive-power-grab-fa51c020?mod=opinion_lead_pos5\">opinion piece<\/a> published in November 2024, Musk and Ramaswamy wrote that \u201cthe entrenched and ever<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >-growing bureaucracy represents<\/a> an existential threat to our republic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DOGE, under Musk\u2019s sole leadership, ultimately focused more on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doge-access-to-personal-data-is-legal-doj-argues-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"DOGE access to personal data is legal, DOJ argues ... Washington Examiner\">modernizing government technology<\/a> and exposing waste, fraud, and abuse than on reducing the federal headcount, but the administration did fire <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3322422\/thousands-federal-employees-lose-jobs-doge-shrink-workforce\/\">thousands of government employees<\/a> last February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The analysis says that staffing reductions and \u201cthe resignations of some staff members who objected to Mr. Trump\u2019s policies\u201d paired with typical turnover to cause such a large volume of departures.
