Honda reported its first annual loss in nearly 70 years, attributing the setback to weaker-than-expected demand for electric vehicles. The company cited reduced EV demand linked to rollbacks of U.S. environmental regulations and other factors, and said it faces about $9 billion in restructuring costs. Honda\u2019s CEO also confirmed the company would scrap a previous goal to have EVs account for 20% of profits by 2030, with total EV-related losses expected to reach around $16 billion. Despite the EV difficulties, Honda expects to remain profitable overall for the fiscal year ending<\/a> March 2027 (projected at about $1.7 billion) and says it has reduced losses through growth in its motorcycle business. <\/p>\n
