Internal Revenue Service* involving the release of Trump-related tax-return records. According to DOJ, plaintiffs agreed to receive an apology rather than monetary damages, drop the pending lawsuit, and withdraw additional administrative claims; in exchange, the government would create the fund (planned at $1.776 billion). The DOJ cited legal precedent for such a fund, pointing to the Obama-era \u201cKeepseagle\u201d case.
