According to self-reliant journalist Andrew Leyden, police initially responded but quickly determined it was a swatting hoax after meeting with Barrett’s on-scene security team.

The dispatcher is described as noting the residence has 24-hour security for a “high priority resident,” and the audio suggests the caller wasn’t answering when police tried to verify the report. The article also includes reactions from conservative social media accounts condemning swatting and claiming it occurred shortly before two opinions authored by Barrett were released. It then details what Courthouse News says are those two decisions: *Rutherford v. United States*, where the court held that state-law challenges to convictions via federal habeas do not qualify for First Step Act <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/amid-crime-spike-detroit-residents-reject-radical-police-reform-and-want-more-cops-on-the-street-poll/" title="Amid Crime Spike, Detroit Residents Reject Radical ...
