He boasted that the U.S. had formed a \u201cWall of Steel,\u201d choking Iran\u2019s oil revenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the same post, Bessent also revealed that the U.S. would be sanctioning Iranian airlines, \u201cshutting down both Iranian airlines\u2019 access to landing spots, refueling, and ticket sales.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOnly a satisfactory outcome in negotiations will end the downward spiral,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bessent followed this up with a new threat that Washington would never tolerate a tolling system in the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOman, in particular, should know that the U.S. Treasury will aggressively target any actors involved \u2013 directly or indirectly \u2013 in facilitating tolls for the Strait and any willing partners will be penalized,\u201d he <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecScottBessent\/status\/2060007636280488164?s=20\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SecScottBessent\/status\/2060007636280488164?s=20\">wrote on X<\/a>. \u201cAll nations should reject outright any efforts by Iran to disrupt the free flow of commerce.
