This cycle, after Trump endorsed challengers, nearly all of those endorsed Republicans won their primaries, as in the cases of Sens. Bill Cassidy and john cornyn and rep. Thomas Massie. Each of the candidates is running as a supporter of Trump, but none has garnered an endorsement.

To date, the race has been a four-way contest between Reps. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and Ralph Norman (R-SC), Attorney General Alan Wilson, and Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette. Also running is businessman Rom Reddy. Polling has shown each of the top four candidates within a few points of each other, with the top spot trading on and off between Evette and Wilson depending on the survey.

With the primary set for June 9, a Trump endorsement could seal the deal for anyone. Although a small state, South Carolina plays an outsized role in the presidential nominating contest for both parties.

Georgia GOP Senate runoff

The Georgia Senate Republican primary advanced to a runoff earlier this month between Rep. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) in what is expected to be a close contest that could determine control of the Senate.

MIKE COLLINS FIRES STAFFER OVER ‘DESPICABLE AND UNAUTHORIZED’ X POST

Collins received 40.5% of the vote in the primary, with Dooley trailing behind him with 30.2%. Dooley has received the endorsement of Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA). The runoff takes place on June 16.

Trump’s allies have said the president will endorse in the contest, but he has yet to do so.

Michigan governor’s race

Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is term-limited, leaving a crowded race in a state Trump won in 2024.
