type=\"post_tag\" id=\"471\">Joe Biden<\/a>\u2018s aides covered up Biden\u2019s physical and mental decline, even Democrats concede Trump and the White House are operating in a political environment where the bar for concern surrounding an aging president has been dramatically lowered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYes, the Biden camp\u2019s hiding or downplaying his alarming physical and mental decline has set a very bad precedent for transparency and honesty about a president\u2019s health,\u201d Democratic strategist Garry South told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A second Democratic strategist, Jim Manley, acknowledged that \u201cTeam Biden \u2014 and the media \u2014 failed the American people when it came to Biden\u2019s health,\u201d with Manley reiterating that \u201cthe media coverage was miserable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, Democrats, including South and Manley, have implored Trump not to make Biden\u2019s mistakes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo hear him tell it, he\u2019s taken cognitive tests that put him at the same level as Einstein, and he\u2019s in such tip-top shape he could probably compete in the UFC match on the White House lawn next month,\u201d South said, alluding to the MMA\u00a0event to mark Trump\u2019s 80th birthday. \u201cThe American people will never hear the truth about Trump\u2019s physical condition, until he drops over one day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump has quipped to the <em>Wall Street Journal <\/em>that he sometimes closes his eyes during meetings because \u201cit\u2019s very relaxing,\u201d but he and his staff have repeated that photographers will \u201ctake a picture of me blinking, blinking, and they\u2019ll catch me with the blink.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe was blinking, you absolute moron,\u201d the White House <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2053894960261300578?s=20\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2053894960261300578?s=20\">wrote<\/a> on X only this week in response to a <em>Reuters<\/em> reporter posting a photo of Trump with his eyes closed during an Oval Office event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The White House has also pushed back regarding the bruising on Trump\u2019s hands, which he routinely covers up with makeup. Staffers have attributed the bruising to Trump\u2019s frequent handshaking and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/daily-aspirin-healthy-or-harmful\/\" title=\"... \u2014 ...y or Harmful?\">daily aspirin regimen<\/a>, which can increase bruising.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe president is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other president in history,\u201d White House spokesman Davis Ingle said. \u201cPresident Trump\u2019s commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The White House has proactively disclosed information about Trump\u2019s health, such as in July regarding his diagnosis with chronic venous insufficiency, which has contributed to his swollen ankles that have also sparked speculation online.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump sparked more questions last October when he told reporters on Air Force One as he returned from Asia that he had a \u201cperfect\u201d\u00a0MRI during that trip to Walter Reed when it was a cardiovascular and abdominal CT scan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">White House physician Sean Barbabella later wrote in a statement that \u201cto make the most\u201d of Trump\u2019s time at Walter Reed after he \u201cagreed to meet with the staff and soldiers,\u201d \u201cwe recommended he undergo another routine physical evaluation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-says-he-aced-cognitive-test-amid-fresh-questions-about-his-health\/\" title=\"Trump says he &#039;aced&#039; cognitive test amid fresh questions about his ...\">ensure continued optimal health<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs part of that examination, we asked the president if he would undergo advanced imaging \u2014 either an\u00a0MRI\u00a0or CT Scan \u2014 to definitively rule out any cardiovascular issues,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThe president agreed, and our team of consultants performed a CT Scan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During an impromptu telephone call with the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, the same interview in which he admitted to closing his eyes during meetings, Trump expressed regret for encouraging the speculation regarding the MRI. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn retrospect, it\u2019s too bad I took it because it gave them a little ammunition,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI would have been a lot better off if they didn\u2019t, because the fact that I took it said, \u2018Oh, gee, is something wrong?\u2019 Well, nothing\u2019s wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">White House press secretary <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/karoline-leavitt\/\">Karoline Leavitt<\/a> underscored Trump\u2019s transparency regarding his health compared to Biden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAdditional details on the imaging have been disclosed by the president himself because he continues to be the most transparent and open president in history and has nothing to hide, unlike his predecessor Joe Biden, who hid from the press and lied about his clear physical and mental decline,\u201d Leavitt wrote in her own statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/constitution\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"424\">Constitution<\/a> and place age limits for Congress,
