Brasel noted that while Bock couldn\u2019t be automatically held responsible for the entire government loss, her central administrative and financial role was clear-she signed most checks to fake distributors and helped create and forge documentation used to sustain the operation.<\/p>\n<p>Bock faced up to 100 years in prison; prosecutors sought 50 years, while her defense requested no more then time served or about three years, plus mental health and vocational treatment. A jury convicted her in 2025 on charges including wire-fraud conspiracy and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-puerto-rico-gov-busted-in-bribery-scheme\/\" title=\"Ex-Puerto Rico Gov. (Sherburne County Jail)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bock ran the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Minnesota\/\">Minnesota<\/a> nonprofit organization known as Feeding Our Future, which approved millions of dollars in fraudulent reimbursement claims for the cost of meals supposedly served.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pandemic-era billing scheme, which involved dozens of sham catering companies across Minnesota, stole approximately $250 million in child nutrition funds from a federal food assistance program meant to feed disadvantaged children during the COVID-19 crisis. Many of the food distribution sites that Feeding Our Future, which served as their organizational sponsor in exchange for a cut of the proceeds, had recruited into its reimbursement network never actually fed any children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is a vortex of fraud, and you were at the epicenter,\u201d Brasel said, condemning Bock\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brasel noted that Bock cannot be automatically held legally responsible for the federal government\u2019s total loss because other conspirators contributed to the taxpayer theft. But Brasel said Bock played a central role in the criminal conspiracy, both in an administrative and financial capacity. Bock, the judge mentioned, signed almost all of the checks made out to the fake food distributors, created a fictitious board of advisers, and forged board minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFeeding Our Future was Bock, and Bock was Feeding Our Future,\u201d prosecutors said in the government\u2019s sentencing memorandum. \u201cPerhaps most importantly for loss calculations in this case, Bock herself certified each false claim being submitted for reimbursement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brasel agreed with prosecutors that the total loss was around $243 million, a staggering amount that greatly enhanced Bock\u2019s penalty. The judge determined that Bock\u2019s ballpark estimate of between $80 million and $132 million in stolen meal funds was simply not believable based on the evidence presented at trial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is not a close call,\u201d Brasel said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A jury found Bock guilty in 2025 of seven counts, including conspiracy to <a federal programs bribery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the sentencing hearing, prosecutors defended their proposed lengthy prison sentence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn light of this defendant\u2019s absolute refusal to take a single inkling of responsibility, not just for her leadership role as the beating heart of feeding our future but also for any criminal conduct whatsoever, it is the government\u2019s belief that disabling Aimee Bock from ever meaningfully participating in society ever again is the only just outcome,\u201d Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebecca Kline said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kline acknowledged that Bock did not profit as much as other conspirators, but she said Bock benefited from the praise she received from the Somali community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her presentencing plea, Bock <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/investigations\/4577675\/feeding-our-future-mastermind-somali-accomplices\/\">pinned the blame<\/a> on her Somali accomplices, insisting that they orchestrated the fraud and deceived her in doing so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"
