A Georgia babysitter, Phillissa Diallo, pleaded guilty too murdering and cruelly harming her 2-year-old charge, Alyssa Rose Davis, in 2022. Diallo was sentenced to 37 years in prison (with 21 years to serve).Prosecutors said the child\u2019s body was found in a plastic storage bin hidden in a closet, after Diallo had reported the child was dead. The investigation found lethal doses of acetaminophen and diphenhydramine (benadryl) in the child, and prosecutors cited \u201cwillful neglect\u201d and efforts to conceal what happened. <\/p>\n

The District Attorney\u2019s office said prosecutors lacked sufficient evidence to bring a Georgia \u201c malice murder<\/a>\u201d charge that could carry a death sentence, and a defense attempt to argue Diallo had delusions was rejected by a state expert. <\/p>\n
