The text alleges Planned Parenthood delayed emergency care and that requests were made to quiet sirens during an ambulance transfer.<\/p>\n<p>It also claims the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >local coroner resisted releasing details<\/a> for months, prompting outside groups to pursue legal action that ultimately compelled disclosure. The author further argues that Colorado\u2019s legislature considered-then rejected-a bill aimed at licensing and regulating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-circuit-breaker-on-election-night\/\" title=\"The question looms: just how does it come to be that three quarters of Republican and nearly one third of Democrat voters all believe that the election was stolen from Trump?\">late-term abortion<\/a> facilities, and concludes that the greater threat to women\u2019s health comes from insufficient regulation of the abortion industry rather than state limits on abortion.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>When victims of abortion complications like <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/20\/amber-thurman-died-from-the-abortion-pill-not-pro-life-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amber Thurman<\/a> die in pro-life states, abortion activists, Democrats, and corporate media exploit their suffering to draw ire towards policies designed to protect women and babies in the womb. When a Colorado teenager died in 2025 of complications that a newly unredacted autopsy confirmed were directly linked to a late-term abortion completed by Planned Parenthood, the same people who purported to be champions of women\u2019s health during the 2024 election cycle were suddenly radio silent.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado permits abortion at any point in pregnancy and maintains some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/17\/abortion-facilities-are-less-regulated-than-tattoo-parlors-and-it-kills-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">laxest public health and safety standards<\/a> for facilities known to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/actor-director-nick-searcy-talks-about-the-struggles-and-triumph-of-gosnell-in-a-post-roe-v-wade-world\/\" title=\"Actor\/Director Nick Searcy Talks About The Struggles And Triumph Of &quot;Gosnell&quot; In A Post-Roe v. Wade World\">perform late-term abortions<\/a>. So when 18-year-old Alexis Lynn Arguello entered a Fort Collins, Colorado Planned Parenthood in February 2025 requesting an abortion at nearly 22 weeks pregnant, <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/newsroom\/press-releases\/new-autopsy-confirms-planned-parenthood-abortion-complications-killed-colo-18-year-old\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">no one batted an eye<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Planned Parenthood abortionists proceeded with a dilation and evacuation abortion, which involves <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/fact-sheet-dismemberment-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dismembering a baby in utero limb by limb<\/a> and then suctioning the remaining fluid and body parts from the mother\u2019s womb. It was during this late-term abortion, which is known to carry a <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/why-we-need-federal-limits-on-late-abortion-to-protect-both-mother-and-child\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201chigher incidence of complications compared to earlier abortions,\u201d<\/a> that Arguello suffered a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nycs-top-doc-apologizes-for-describing-mothers-as-birthing-people\/\" title=\"NYC\u2019s Top Doc Apologizes for Describing Mothers as \u201cBirthing ......\">life-threatening complication<\/a> that led to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/17\/abortion-facilities-are-less-regulated-than-tattoo-parlors-and-it-kills-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">severe bleeding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/ARGUELLO_Unredacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">newly unredacted version<\/a> of the autopsy confirmed what <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/latest-news\/young-woman-dies-after-late-term-abortion-at-planned-parenthood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pro-lifers<\/a> had already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/left-to-die-planned-parenthood-delayed-care-for-dying-teen-bombshell-testimony-exposes-horrific-negligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported <\/a>for more than a year: Arguello \u201cdied of complications of surgical pregnancy termination, including disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProbable amniotic fluid embolism, refractory shock, and multiorgan failure are significant contributing conditions,\u201d the coroner noted.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of acting immediately, Planned Parenthood <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/left-to-die-planned-parenthood-delayed-care-for-dying-teen-bombshell-testimony-exposes-horrific-negligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly<\/a> delayed getting Arguello the lifesaving care required to adequately treat an amniotic fluid embolism. When an ambulance finally arrived to transfer the teen to the hospital, Planned Parenthood reportedly requested the emergency responders turn off their sirens to keep the abortion facility from receiving unwanted attention.<\/p>\n<p>Arguello eventually <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/newsroom\/press-releases\/new-autopsy-confirms-planned-parenthood-abortion-complications-killed-colo-18-year-old\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">received a blood transfusion<\/a>, but it was too late. The teen, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.malesichandshirey.com\/obituaries\/alexis-arguello\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a \u201cbright student\u201d who had a \u201cthirst for life,\u201d<\/a> died due to complications of her second trimester abortion. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the dire circumstances of her passing, Arguello was not afforded a media uproar. Instead, the Larimer County Coroner Stephen Hanks schemed to keep the details of her death quiet. <\/p>\n<p>For months, the Kansas-based pro-life group Operation Rescue fought to obtain an unredacted version of Arguello\u2019s autopsy report and draw attention to her story. Hanks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Order-Requiring-Release-of-Arguello-Autopsy-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refused<\/a> on the grounds of \u201cColorado\u2019s strong public policy in favor of protecting reproductive healthcare\u201d and claimed the release of such information would harm the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurther, Mr. Hanks testified that allowing the release of reproductive healthcare information in an autopsy report might discourage someone from seeking reproductive healthcare during their life,\u201d legal documents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Order-Requiring-Release-of-Arguello-Autopsy-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">describe.<\/a> \u201cHe testified generally to these propositions \u2014 Mr. Hanks did not provide any specific examples or data. Nor did Mr. Hanks provide any evidence, even anecdotal, that people skipped reproductive healthcare based on the possibility that those records might be disclosed after their death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It took an April 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Order-Requiring-Release-of-Arguello-Autopsy-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">order<\/a> from Daniel M. St. John II\u00a0of the 8th Judicial District Court for Hanks to hand over his analysis explaining the reasons Arguello died. By then, Colorado had likely <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/abortion-reporting-colorado-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recorded thousands more risky abortions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One month after Arguello\u2019s death, witnesses testified to Colorado\u2019s Democrat-controlled legislature in favor of <a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/hb25-1252\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">passing a bill<\/a> that would require the state to \u201cannually license and to establish and enforce standards\u201d on facilities that perform late-term abortions. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe abortion industry wants to legitimize itself as a form of women\u2019s health care, but they don\u2019t want regulations or accountability. I would consider that \u2018back-alley\u2019,\u201d Dr. Keri Kasun warned. <\/p>\n<p>The Colorado legislature <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/17\/abortion-facilities-are-less-regulated-than-tattoo-parlors-and-it-kills-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ultimately rejected the bill<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Contrary to the cries of the ruling class, the real threat to women\u2019s health doesn\u2019t come states that limit or outlaw abortion, but from states that refuse to regulate an industry known to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2013\/02\/07\/probe-demanded-of-planned-parenthood-doc-who-killed-woman-in-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">botch<\/a> abortions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/gender\/commentary\/dont-defend-planned-parenthoods-gender-affirming-care-defund-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dispense castrating drugs<\/a> to confused minors, reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/22\/report-planned-parenthood-caught-selling-viable-fetuses-to-university-of-california-san-diego\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">traffic baby<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/15\/new-unsealed-documents-show-planned-parenthood-profited-from-aborted-baby-body-parts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">body parts,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/20\/want-to-know-who-is-really-empowered-by-abortion-sex-traffickers-and-abusers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">enable abusers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/florida-investigation-of-planned-parenthood-clinics-finds-deficiencies-1438817376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly perform unlicensed<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2016\/01\/29\/planned-parenthood-breaks-state-law-to-open-unlicensed-abortion-clinic-in-kentucky\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">procedures<\/a>,\u00a0and violate <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/archive\/9059172\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">health<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/02\/15\/us\/planned-parenthood-clinics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">safety standards<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Americans are not fond of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/16\/poll-majority-of-americans-still-reject-democrats-unlimited-abortion-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">abortion beyond 15 weeks gestation<\/a>. Yet, corporate media <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/20\/media-activists-wont-grill-democrats-on-unpopular-abortion-extremism-because-they-agree-with-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">willingly<\/a> advance Democrats\u2019 abortion extremism with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/fact-check-do-abortions-really-happen-in-final-days-of-pregnancy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fake<\/a> fact checks asserting late-term abortion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parents.com\/pregnancy\/my-body\/pregnancy-health\/theres-no-such-thing-as-late-term-abortion-here-are-the-facts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cdoesn\u2019t exist\u201d<\/a> and is not a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2024\/07\/12\/reckless-and-unsafe-the-misinformation-around-late-term-abortion-is-harmful-experts-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201creal thing.\u201d<\/a> The result of that activism and Democrats\u2019 extremism is the deaths of <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/questions-and-answers-on-late-term-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tens of thousands of babies<\/a> and some women like Arguello. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Jordan Boyd is an award-winning staff writer at The Federalist and producer of \u201cThe Federalist Radio Hour.\u201d Her work has also been featured in The Daily Wire, Fox News, and RealClearPolitics.
