He had been expected to attend because Cost Plus Drugs is one of the companies partnering with TrumpRx, alongside others, to help expand access to lower-cost generics.<\/p>\n<p>Onstage, Cuban saeid TrumpRx aligns with Republicans, democrats, and independents all wanting cheaper drugs, and that his company\u2019s programming interfaces make integration straightforward. He acknowledged that only about 550 of Cost Plus\u2019s thousands of products were initially available through TrumpRx, with more to be added as systems catch up.<\/p>\n<p>Cuban\u2019s presence drew attention since he has previously been critical of Trump and has endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024. Reporters asked him about politics and whether he might seek office, but he largely deflected or joked, reiterating that his focus is reducing healthcare costs. Outlets reported earlier in the day that he was one of many healthcare executives who\u2019d be at the White House for President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4573583\/trump-says-wasnt-involved-creating-nearly-2-billion-fund-victims\/\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2018s announcement regarding TrumpRx, the federal government\u2019s website aimed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/editor-daily-rundown-biden-to-deliver-forceful-speech-to-congress-about-lowering-prescription-drug-prices\/\" title=\"Editor Daily Rundown: Biden To Deliver \u2018Forceful... Independents want cheaper drugs. Democrats want cheaper drugs,\u201d he said onstage at the South Court Auditorium after being introduced by the president. \u201cTogether, I think we\u2019re going to do something special.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Following Monday\u2019s event, Cuban told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> that he and Trump had been discussing for months some type of partnership between Cost Plus and the federal effort.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have what\u2019s called programming interfaces \u2026 that we make available to everybody, and it was just a natural match for [us] just to work with them \u2014\u00a0to get as many of our drugs as they wanted to carry,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Cuban publicly lauded the TrumpRx launch earlier this year, but he told the <em>Washington<\/em> <em>Examiner<\/em> their biggest fault was that they needed to \u201cjust add more drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey can only do so much at a time,\u201d he added, noting that, as of Monday, only roughly 550 of Cost Plus\u2019s thousands-strong catalog will be immediately available through TrumpRx. \u201cSome of the guys have been up three straight nights, and so it wasn\u2019t fair to them to expect them just to take all of our inventory and integrate it all through. So this is a great start, and I\u2019m positive we\u2019ll keep on adding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But given his past support for Democrats \u2014 including an endorsement of former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024 \u2014 and a lengthy history of publicly attacking Trump himself, many were confused to see \u201cCubes\u201d side by side with the president.<\/p>\n<p>That group included a number of reporters who caught up with Cuban on the White House driveway, the majority of whom peppered the former <em>Shark Tank<\/em> star with questions about the 2028 presidential field, the looming November midterm elections, and whether or not he regretted his endorsement of Harris.<\/p>\n<p>Virtually none of those questions were answered. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHell no,\u201d he joked, when asked if being at the White House might have inspired some aspirations of his own for political office. \u201cIt\u2019s too hot here. I\u2019m all about reducing the cost of healthcare. To me, that\u2019s my ultimate legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was last season, right?\u201d Cuban responded when pressed to see if his thoughts on Trump, whom he\u2019s known personally for more than two decades, had changed over the past 18 months. \u201cWhat you say during an election cycle is obviously going to be completely different, but now the goal is the goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And for Cuban, that goal is simple: cut healthcare costs for American households.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody likes it, everybody thinks it sucks, and if I can take something that makes everybody\u2019s life more miserable, and more stressful, and f*** it up \u2014 I\u2019m in,\u201d he told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the TrumpRx partnership, he expressed a willingness to collaborate with the administration on future healthcare initiatives, including potentially lobbying for Trump\u2019s desired legislation codifying his Most Favored Nation drug pricing policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just depends,\u201d he told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> in response to a question on whether or not he would talk to Hill lawmakers on the president\u2019s behalf. \u201cI think [Most Favored Nation] is great, but when you look at why we\u2019re more expensive for brand drugs versus the rest of the world, it\u2019s because of the insurance companies and the [pharmacy benefit managers] that they own that introduce all the extra costs.
