President Donald Trump announced the expanded merger effort at the White House and argued the broadened catalog will help consumers find the lowest prices for prescriptions.  <\/p>\n<p>TrumpRx originally focused on Most Favored Nation (MFN) prices for certain name-brand drugs negotiated between the federal government and pharmaceutical companies. Critics said the platform didn\u2019t address many insured drugs or key categories such as GLP-1 weight-loss medicines and fertility treatments.Supporters say adding hundreds of generic drugs and routing buyers to other discount pharmacies will address those gaps.  <\/p>\n<p>The website was also updated with a map-based search tool that <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >lets users compare lowest prices<\/a> at nearby pharmacies, similar to other consumer price-comparison services. The White House Council of Economic Advisers estimates the program could save the public $529 billion over its first decade.  <\/p>\n<p>Mark cuban, a pro-openness discount pharmacy advocate, publicly joined the effort. You can compare prices on flights, why not medicine?\u201d said Gebbia.<\/p>\n<p>Making healthcare more affordable has been an essential message for both the GOP and Democrats heading into the midterm election season. <\/p>\n<p>Nearly <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/public-opinion\/kff-health-tracking-poll-health-care-costs-and-the-midterms\/\">2 in 3 voters<\/a> are concerned about not being able to afford rising healthcare costs, according to an April poll from the health think tank KFF. That\u2019s on par with the share who worry about gas and transportation costs and other economic concerns.<\/p>\n<p>More than half say healthcare costs will determine whether and for whom they will vote in November.<\/p>\n<p>The White House Council of Economic Advisers estimates TrumpRx will save the public <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WhiteHouse\/status\/2056460882868138372?s=20\">$529 billion<\/a> in prescription costs over its first decade<\/p>\n<p>HHS adviser Chris Klomp, one of the main architects of the TrumpRx program, said creating the public-private partnerships to decrease prices will have long-term and stabilizing market effects. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis president has set us on a course to permanently benefit from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-you-need-to-know-about-trumps-latest-drug-pricing-moves\/\" title=\"What You Need To Know About Trump...s Latest Drug Pricing Moves\">lower drug prices<\/a> as a country,\u201d Klomp said. \u201cThe foundation is built, the market is engaged, the future is affordable.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mark-cuban-joins-team-trump\">Mark Cuban joins team Trump<\/h2>\n<p>Cuban and Trump have had a complex relationship for the past decade, but the duo appears to have put their history aside to advance the goal of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congress-faces-an-absolutely-brutal-september-filled-with-high-stakes-deadlines\/\" title=\"Congress Faces An Absolutely Brutal September Filled With High-Stakes Deadlines\">lowering drug prices<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cuban created the online discount pharmacy platform Cost Plus Drugs in January 2022 with the intention of bypassing traditional industry middlemen. <\/p>\n<p>Cost Plus Drugs is known for offering complete price transparency for its generic drug offerings. The cost of drugs on the website includes the manufacturer\u2019s drug cost, a flat 15% markup, a $5 pharmacy labor fee, and $5.25 for shipping. <\/p>\n<p>Like TrumpRx, Cost Plus Drugs is a cash-pay pharmacy, meaning it does not process insurance claims and drug costs from the site do not go toward a patient\u2019s deductible.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Everyone  wants me to rip on TrumpRx.
