Mayor muriel Bowser signed a bill allowing MPD to set temporary 8 p.m. curfew zones, pending a required congressional review period. (U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the District of Columbia)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The footage appeared to show large groups of teenagers throwing punches, hurling chairs, and using restaurant furniture as weapons while customers fled for safety.<\/p>\n<p>At one point in the video, a man holding a young girl in a pink dress could be seen shielding her from the violence unfolding around them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat infuriated me, and it should infuriate every one of you,\u201d Pirro said. \u201cThis has to stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/metropolitan-police-department\/\">Metropolitan Police Department<\/a>, officers responded around 8:41 p.m. Saturday to reports of a large fight inside the restaurant on 1st Street SE. Police said officers were already nearby monitoring a large gathering and arrived within roughly one minute, though the individuals involved had fled before police entered the business.<\/p>\n<p>Pirro said the FBI is assisting MPD investigators as authorities work to identify those involved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese takeovers are not harmless gatherings,\u201d said Darren Cox, the assistant director in charge of the FBI\u2019s Washington field office. \u201cThey\u2019re violent incidents that often lead to assaults, fights, and robberies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pirro repeatedly tied the violence to the District\u2019s ongoing debate over expanded juvenile curfew powers. During the press conference, she displayed a poster board featuring the names and phone numbers of D.C.
