In a Friday court filing, prosecutors said the death penalty would apply to three counts, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/oc-sheriff-refuses-to-release-1800-dangerous-inmates-including-murderers-and-child-molesters-after-judges-order\/\" title=\"OC Sheriff Refuses to Release 1,800 Dangerous Inmates \u2013 Including ...ers and Child Molesters \u2013 After Judge\u2019s Order\">including murder<\/a> of a foreign official and firearm-related charges tied to the victims\u2019 deaths.  <\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors allege Rodriguez was motivated by the Israel-Hamas war and carried out an antisemitic attack. They say the victims-Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, a couple-were killed as they left the Capital Jewish Museum. The indictment states Rodriguez entered the museum after the attack and made statements supporting Palestine\/Gaza, including shouting \u201cFree Palestine.\u201d He also told investigators he admired Aaron Bushnell, who died after self-immolating outside the Israeli Embassy in 2024.  <\/p>\n<p>Rodriguez was charged with <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >13 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cnn-staffer-accused-of-luring-mom-daughter-to-train-her-in-sexual-submission\/\" title=\"CNN Staffer ... of Luring Mom, Daughter to &#039;Train&#039; (Embassy of Israel in the U.S.\/AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The DOJ\u2019s latest court filing in the case shows the death penalty will be applied to three charges: one count for murder of a foreign official and two counts for discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence and causing death through the use of a firearm. All the charges carry a possible death sentence, according to the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutors found that Rodriguez was motivated by the Israel-Hamas war, which is why he targeted the two young Jewish professionals in a violent act of antisemitism. Lischinsky and Milgrim were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum when they were shot. The two victims were a couple.<\/p>\n<p>After the shooting, Rodriguez entered the museum and said, \u201cI did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza, I am unarmed,\u201d according to the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-dc\/media\/1426776\/dl?inline\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-dc\/media\/1426776\/dl?inline\">indictment<\/a>. During the shooting, he shouted, \u201cFree Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also told investigators that he admired the \u201ccourageous\u201d Air Force member who set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in February 2024.
