TCH faced allegations that its <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >medical providers knowingly falsified diagnosis codes<\/a> to obtain Medicaid payments for gender transitions.<\/p>\n<p>The legal agreement also compels TCH to fire multiple physicians who performed these procedures, revoke their privileges, and never hire or credential such doctors.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, TCH agreed to never provide gender transitions to minors again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI applaud Texas Children\u2019s Hospital for changing course and committing to being a part of the solution by agreeing to form a first-of-its kind Detransition Clinic that will help provide free care to those who have been victimized by twisted, morally bankrupt transgender ideology,\u201d Paxton <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-paxton-makes-history-securing-landmark-healthcare-fraud-settlement-creates-nations\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-paxton-makes-history-securing-landmark-healthcare-fraud-settlement-creates-nations\">said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cUnder my watch, I will investigate and bring the full force of the law against any Texas hospital that abuses children with harmful medical interventions to \u2018transition\u2019 kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/department-of-justice\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"438\">Department of Justice<\/a> worked with the Texas Republican official\u2019s office to secure the settlement.<\/p>\n<p>TCH maintained it cooperated with the state attorney general and did nothing illegal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll reviews and investigations continue to support the facts \u2013 we have been compliant with all laws,\u201d the hospital\u2019s statement reads. \u201cToday, we made the difficult decision to settle with the Texas Attorney General and the Department of Justice, closing a chapter that has been wrought with falsehoods and distractions. To be clear \u2013 we are settling to protect our resources from endless and costly litigation. This settlement will allow us to redirect those precious resources to focus on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-republicans-push-for-vote-on-born-alive-bill\/\" title=\"House Republicans Push for Vote on Born Alive Bill\">life-saving care<\/a> and groundbreaking discoveries of our exceptional clinicians and scientists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Eithan Haim, a surgeon who worked at TCH during his residency, celebrated the culmination of his whistleblowing efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe impossible was done by [Paxton] and his team at the [Texas attorney general\u2019s] office,\u201d he <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EithanDHaimMD\/status\/2055290217947676676\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EithanDHaimMD\/status\/2055290217947676676\">posted on X<\/a>. \u201cI cannot believe this happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In May 2023, Haim blew the whistle regarding TCH\u2019s continued transgender-medicine program that violated Paxton\u2019s 2022 legal opinion equating \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d to child abuse. TCH then issued a statement that its providers would no longer perform the surgical and hormonal procedures on children. Haim obtained documents suggesting otherwise that conservative journalist Christopher Rufo <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/article\/sex-change-procedures-at-texas-childrens-hospital\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/article\/sex-change-procedures-at-texas-childrens-hospital\">published in an article<\/a>, prompting Paxton to open a second investigation into the pediatric hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The medical whistleblower initially remained anonymous, but he <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/119\/meeting\/house\/118128\/documents\/HHRG-119-JU10-20250409-SD005.pdf\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/119\/meeting\/house\/118128\/documents\/HHRG-119-JU10-20250409-SD005.pdf\">revealed his identity<\/a> after the Biden-era DOJ targeted him in an investigation of the disclosed medical records.
