He says, \u2018Look, you know, we\u2019ve had it for thousands of years, and then had a certain period of time and left, and we were going to get it back, and the Korean War and a lot of things happened with all this.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTaiwan, he feels very strongly. I made no commitment,\u201d <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4567970\/trump-invite-china-president-xi-jinping-visit-washington-dc\/\">Trump<\/a> continued, adding that he would \u201cmake a determination\u201d soon but not before speaking to Taiwanese President William Lai.<\/p>\n<p>The United States has sold weapons to Taiwan for decades, and a bipartisan group of senators had pressured Trump to greenlight a new arms sale to Taiwan before leaving for Beijing.
