This is about protecting patients, restoring integrity, and safeguarding taxpayer dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday\u2019s announcement marks an escalation of the Trump administration\u2019s \u201cwar on fraud.\u201d It started in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/minnesota\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"443\">Minnesota<\/a> and has since extended to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/california\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"60\">California<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/texas\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"253\">Texas<\/a>, and other states.<\/p>\n<p>The CMS <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/4551073\/dr-oz-freezes-federal-medicaid-funding-minnesota\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/4551073\/dr-oz-freezes-federal-medicaid-funding-minnesota\/\">froze<\/a> $350 million in federal Medicare funding for Minnesota over significant fraud concerns, specifically targeting home-based services.<\/p>\n<p>In Los Angeles, the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/white-house\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"8767\">White House<\/a> task force <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/4529943\/hundreds-hospice-providers-suspended-suspected-fraud\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/4529943\/hundreds-hospice-providers-suspended-suspected-fraud\/\">suspended<\/a> nearly 450 hospices and over 20 home health agencies suspected of stealing more than $600 million from federal healthcare programs.<\/p>\n<p>The CMS is also <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/4546538\/mehmet-oz-pledges-hospice-fraud-investigations-texas\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/4546538\/mehmet-oz-pledges-hospice-fraud-investigations-texas\/\">investigating<\/a> hospices in Texas for alleged fraud, but similar investigations seem to predominantly target blue states more than red states.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, the anti-fraud task force <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DrOzCMS\/status\/2054576262312587611\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DrOzCMS\/status\/2054576262312587611\">revealed<\/a> that $1.4 billion has been withheld from home healthcare and hospice services nationwide after providers were suspended. About 90% of the suspended providers did not contact the CMS following their suspensions, leading the agency to believe they did engage in fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Oz and Vance acknowledged the exclusive reporting on these fraud developments on social media.
