A new report by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) says that while harassment aimed at Jewish people has fallen in the U.S., physical violence has risen sharply and reached a near 50-year high. The ADL reports that physical assaults totaled more than 200 in 2025-the highest level since 1979-rising from fewer than 50 in 2020 to 203 in 2025. It also cites increases in assaults involving deadly weapons and notes several fatal incidents, including attacks in Washington, D.C., Colorado, and New York.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the ADL says overall harassment or hatred incidents declined, with especially large drops on college and university campuses.
