Michael Marx, a 45-year-old man from Midland, Texas, was charged federally after an incident in Washington, D.C., in which he allegedly shot at a Secret Service agent and told others, \u201cF*** the White House.\u201d According to prosecutors, Secret Service agents encountered him on the National Mall near Vice President J.D. Vance\u2019s motorcade after he was seen with a handgun. He drew the weapon as agents approached, leading to a gunfight in which a bystander was wounded and Marx was later arrested after collapsing from gunshot wounds. <\/p>\n

The DOJ says Marx also made statements such as \u201cKill me\u201d while in an ambulance. Authorities identified him through his Texas driver\u2019s license, noting alleged aliases, and prosecutors said he did not have a license to carry a handgun in Washington. the case resulted in charges including assaulting federal officers<\/a> with a dangerous weapon, using and discharging a firearm during a violent crime, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. <\/p>\n
