id=\"4553456\">temporarily blocked<\/a> mifepristone from being prescribed online and shipped through the mail, reinstating requirements for in-person medical visits before patients can obtain the medication.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>The Supreme Court temporarily halted that ruling Monday, with Justice <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/samuel-alito\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1232\">Samuel Alito<\/a> issuing an administrative stay through May 11 to give the justices time to consider requests from the drugmakers to preserve nationwide access while the court weighs whether to take up the case.<\/p>\n<p>In their filing, Republicans argued the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener Chris Smith (R-NJ) accused the Biden administration of using the FDA to \u201csubvert\u201d the Supreme Court\u2019s decision in <em><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/dobbs-v-jackson-womens-health-organization\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"2202\">Dobbs v.
