Lee <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/4557215\/tennessee-gop-release-new-congressional-map\/\">vowed to redistrict <\/a>the Volunteer State to give Republicans \u201cone extra seat\u201d after a meeting with the president last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe owe it to Tennesseans to ensure our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-ruling-scrambles-2026-maps-reshapes-redistricting\/\" title=\"Supreme Court ruling scrambles 2026 ...s, reshapes ...\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >congressional districts<\/a> accurately reflect<\/a> the will of Tennessee voters,\u201d Lee <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GovBillLee\/status\/2050337150848082299\">said<\/a> after the meeting. \u201cAfter consultation with the Lt. Callais<\/em>. Several red states, including Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and South Carolina, moved quickly to redistrict after the court\u2019s ruling.<\/p>\n<p>Gov. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/brian-kemp\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"3312\">Brian Kemp<\/a> (R-GA) has defied Trump\u2019s wishes and ruled out a redistricting push for the 2026 electoral cycle, promising a new map before the 2028 elections. The governor supported the Supreme Court\u2019s decision but <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/about:blank\">argued<\/a> that \u201cvoting is already underway for the 2026 elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/4556389\/gop-democrats-gerrymander-targets-supreme-court-ruling\/\">RED OR BLUE? GOP AND DEMOCRATS EYE NEXT GERRYMANDER TARGETS AFTER SUPREME COURT RULING<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kemp has <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/4558801\/pressure-brian-kemp-suspend-georgia-primary-redistricting\/\">faced increasing pressure<\/a> from Georgia Republicans to redistrict before the midterm elections, as Peach State congressmen and GOP leaders have publicly pressed him on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s influence among Republicans remains strong, as demonstrated in Indiana on Tuesday.
