Reyes, a Biden-appointed federal judge in Washington, D.C., <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/infrastructure\/4553388\/dc-judge-serious-consequences-east-potomac-golf-links-close-no-proper-notice\/\">asked the Trump administration to be transparent<\/a> about its renovation plans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven some issues around the district recently, I would have a particular concern that we not act first and ask forgiveness later,\u201d <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/sports\/2026\/05\/04\/east-potomac-open-judge-ruling\/\">Reyes said<\/a> during a Monday morning hearing. \u201cBecause that\u2019s not going to be acceptable, and I want you to make sure that that\u2019s fully communicated to the agency.
