I think we\u2019re here to serve the voter,\u201d Cassidy told reporters on a press call. \u201cI think part of the problem is that the voters now serve the political process, and there\u2019s been change after change, and voters deserve to be confused.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to Landry for comment. In a prior statement announcing the delay for House primaries that came after the Supreme Court deemed Louisiana\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-backed-congressional-map-declared-unconstitutional-by-judge\/\" title=\"Judge declares DeSantis-backed congressional map unconstitutional.\">congressional map unconstitutional<\/a>, Landry said his executive order \u201censures we uphold the rule of law while giving the Legislature the time it needs to pass a fair and lawful congressional map.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cassidy further told reporters he feared that, \u201cinevitably, some think that applied to both the House and the Senate.\u201d Early voting for the Senate primary began Saturday and will run through May 9.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that can be a problem, and we\u2019re going to hand Democrats a win if voters don\u2019t know when to vote,\u201d Cassidy said, noting that he\u2019s focusing his final days on get-out-the-vote events to raise awareness for election day.<\/p>\n<p>The primary is expected to head to a runoff with the top two vote-getters between Cassidy, Letlow, and State Treasurer <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/4424694\/bill-cassidy-challenger-trump-preferred-gop-senate-candidate\/\">John Fleming<\/a>, if none of them earn at least 50%.
