Authorities in North Carolina report that more then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/charges-filed-against-2-suspects-in-murder-of-kristin-smart\/\" title=\"Charges ... against 2 suspects in murder of Kristin Smart\">40 search warrants<\/a> were issued against a married couple linked to the Biffles.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged break-in occured over the night of January 7 into the next morning: a woman, described as appearing familiar with the home\u2019s layout and security features, was identified via surveillance, and police say evidence showed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/giuliani-disputes-accusation-that-led-to-raid-i-never-ever-represented-a-foreign-national\/\" title=\"Giuliani Disputes Accusation That Led to Raid: \u2018I Never, Ever Represented a Foreign National\u2019\">multiple devices<\/a> were active during the time the only authorized people (estate administrators) were absent. Authorities also claim they traced the woman to people connected to a party of life and placed her husband\u2019s vehicle near the home.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the burglary, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >search warrants describe alleged financial crimes involving accessing<\/a> the Biffles\u2019 bank and online payment accounts by using personal information and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-kristi-noem-clarifies-what-really-happened-after-dem-senator-was-lunging-toward-her\/\" title=\"Watch: Kristi Noem Clarifies What Really Happened After Dem Senator Was &#039;Lunging Toward&#039; Her\">changing phone numbers<\/a> and addresses to take control of funds, then transferring money for purchases and cashing at least one fraudulent check connected to Biffle\u2019s business interests. Police say the activity involved multiple states.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, lawsuits have been filed stemming from the crash. The estates of pilot Dennis Dutton and his son sued Biffle\u2019s estate seeking at least $15 million each, alleging aircraft maintenance and operating failures. The Associated Press is not naming the pair because no arrests have been made.<\/p>\n<p>Biffle, his wife and his two children, along with three others, died in the Dec. 18 crash, which remains under investigation by the NTSB. Search warrants were later executed at two sites, one near the Biffles\u2019 residence and another in a nearby county.<\/p>\n<p>A person seen on surveillance video, identified as a woman, appeared to be familiar with the large home\u2019s layout, including the locations of cameras, closets and a safe room, a detective wrote in a search warrant affidavit.<\/p>\n<p>The intruder spent nearly six hours inside the house the night of Jan. 7 into the following morning.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence showed a cellphone and multiple devices were active on the property during that time, according to the warrant. The only people allowed to be there would\u2019ve been the administers of the estate, but they weren\u2019t present.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say they linked the woman to someone who attended Biffle\u2019s celebration of life, and said license plate readers placed her husband\u2019s truck near the home that night.<\/p>\n<p>The warrants also describe alleged financial crimes. Investigators say that bank, Venmo and PayPal accounts tied to the Biffle\u2019s were accessed online using personal information, with phone numbers and  addresses changed to gain control of funds.<\/p>\n<p>Money was then allegedly transferred to accounts not belonging to the family and used for purchases, according to the warrant.<\/p>\n<p>At least one fraudulent check tied to Biffle\u2019s business interests was cashed, and other attempts were made to access accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The activity occurred across multiple states. The sheriff would not say whether the same suspects in the break-in are being investigated for the financial crimes, saying the department is waiting for more evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the plane crash sparked lawsuits against the estates of Biffle and the pilot Dennis Dutton, who was killed along with his son.<\/p>\n<p>On April 17, the estates of Dutton and his son sued Biffle\u2019s estate for at least $15 million each, alleging Biffle failed to properly maintain the plane and operated it in a defective condition. The claims include lost income and \u201cpre-death pain and suffering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In February, Biffle\u2019s ex-wife, Nicole Biffle, filed a notice of claim against Dutton\u2019s estate on behalf of the couple\u2019s 14-year-old daughter\u2019s estate, seeking at least $10 million for wrongful death.<\/p>\n<p>___<\/p>\n<p>Associated Press writer Allen G.
