A 16-year-old former student in Daytona Beach, florida, was stopped before entering a high school wiht a loaded handgun.School staff-including a school resource officer and an \u201carmed guardian\u201d at Mainland High School-confronted the teen after he had fled when previously trying to re-register earlier in April. <\/p>\n

The student had been removed from the school in February after arrests for marijuana possession and vehicle burglary.When intercepted, he was searched and found with a loaded handgun and two magazines tucked in his pants. The school was not placed on lockdown. <\/p>\n

Authorities reported the teen was arrested on an open warrant as a runaway and faces charges including possession<\/a> of a firearm by a juvenile, and possessing a firearm and ammunition on school property.
