Carr has said the investigation is looking into allegations of \u201cracially segregated spaces\u201d and \u201cracial and identity quotas or preferences\u201d throughout the company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been very clear that we\u2019re holding broadcasters accountable to their obligations, not just public interest standards, but [equal employment opportunity] obligations,\u201d Carr said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He explained during Thursday\u2019s press conference that the FCC launched the early license review after <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/disney\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"2953\">Disney<\/a> submitted insufficient documentation in response to a letter of inquiry as part of the investigation, according to the commission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a view that Disney was not forthcoming with the agency in terms of its document production last week,\u201d Carr said on Thursday. \u201cWe don\u2019t need to hash out exactly why that is, but there is a concern that they weren\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo after saying publicly for weeks and months that one next step in this investigation would be an early renewal, and we got the document production at the end of the last week that we thought Disney was hitting us up with the \u2018Okey-Doke,\u2019 we decided to take that next step,\u201d Carr continued.<\/p>\n<p>The early renewal review came just days after the latest chapter in Trump and Kimmel\u2019s feud.
