The piece cites statements from figures such as **Jaime Harrison, Chuck Schumer, Raphael Warnock, Hank Johnson,** and **J.B.Pritzker**, along with media commentary from outlets including **CNN, ABC,** and **MSNBC**, asserting that they claimed the decision would effectively revive \u201cJim Crow,\u201d suppress Black or brown voters, or hinder political participation.The article frames these criticisms as unfounded and argues the decision instead represents an betterment for rule-of-law and constitutionality in redistricting.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The U.S. Supreme Court took a major step on Wednesday in upholding a colorblind Constitution \u2014 and predictably, the race-obsessed left is losing its marbles. <\/p>\n<p>In its <em>Louisiana v. Callais<\/em> decision, the high court <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/29\/supreme-court-smacks-down-rampant-race-based-gerrymandering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">severely gutted<\/a> states\u2019 ability to use race in the redistricting process. The ruling essentially gives Republican-controlled states the green light to eliminate majority-minority districts that were <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/08\/08\/upcoming-scotus-case-could-reshape-redistricting-as-we-know-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">carved out<\/a> under past interpretations of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act \u2014 interpretations that benefited Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf nothing else, the <em>Louisiana v. Callais<\/em> decision demonstrates just how much Democrat Party power in America has become an artificial construct. They gain power through counting illegals in the census, diluting election security rules, and forcing Red States to draw congressional districts solely on the basis of race,\u201d former Trump administration official Theo Wold <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RealTheoWold\/status\/2049519473254596755?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">summarized<\/a> on X. \u201cThey have no ability to argue their positions on the merits, so they\u2019ve built these pillars of power to rig the game. But now they\u2019re slowly coming to an end.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Wold\u2019s conclusion is clearly one shared by many Democrats and corporate media content creators. Since its release, these leftists have been in full freak-out mode about the consequences the <em>Callais<\/em> decision may have on their political power. <\/p>\n<p>Former Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison set the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rainer-zitelmann-the-goals-you-write-down-on-new-years-eve-will-define-the-year-ahead\/\" title=\"Rainer Zitelmann: The Goals You Write Down on New Year\u2019s Eve Will Define the Year Ahead\">bar pretty high<\/a> with his <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/harrisonjaime\/status\/2049497806742663290?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">outlandish post<\/a> dubbing the current Supreme Court as \u201cthe worst \u2026 in American history.\u201d He put the cherry on top by arguing that the current court is \u201cworse than the Taney Court. Full stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For historical context, the Supreme Court under Chief Justice Roger Taney delivered the infamous <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/1850-1900\/60us393\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dred Scott v. Sandford<\/a><\/em>  (1857) decision, in which the court ruled that black Americans \u2014 whether free or enslaved \u2014 were not U.S. citizens. The ruling also precluded Congress from banning slavery in federal territories.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping in line with Harrison\u2019s race-baiting idiocy, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer ran to the Senate floor to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.democrats.senate.gov\/news\/press-releases\/leader-schumer-floor-remarks-on-the-supreme-courts-decision-to-further-diminish-the-voting-rights-act-and-upend-generations-of-progress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grossly claim<\/a> that, by taking a race-neutral approach in <em>Callais<\/em>, the Supreme Court \u201ctook another step towards resurrecting the Jim Crow South.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., employed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-our-tables-and-our-hearts-are-gonna-be-full-this-thanksgiving\/\" title=\"Joe Biden: &#039;Our Tables and Our Hearts Are Gonna Be Full&#039; This Thanksgiving\">similar talking point<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ReverendWarnock\/status\/2049525116795593093?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claiming<\/a> that \u201cTrump\u2019s Supreme Court is dragging us back to the dark and ugly days of Jim Crow.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock \u2014 who perpetuated the &#8220;Jim Crow&#8221; lie about Georgia&#8217;s voting laws \u2014 now says the Supreme Court striking down unconstitutional racist gerrymandering is \u201cJim Crow in new clothes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No one is buying this. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sokmBIUe5P\">pic.twitter.com\/sokmBIUe5P<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/2049680765340782607?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 30, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s throwback decision legalizes Jim Crow 2.0, and is a devastating blow to the voting rights of Black people, and to American democracy itself,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepHankJohnson\/status\/2049670099087335791?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., who once <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/guam-capsizing-planted-docs-termite-jewish-settlers-hank-johnsons-wildest-statements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expressed<\/a> concerns that the island of Guam would \u201ccapsize\u201d if too many people were on it.<\/p>\n<p>Wannabe president and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker laughably <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GovPritzker\/status\/2049525699417928123?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed<\/a> on X that the <em>Callais<\/em> decision is \u201cvoter suppression that will silence Black and brown voters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery American deserves an equal vote,\u201d wrote the Democrat governor who runs \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/04\/30\/scotus-crowns-good-week-for-the-rule-of-law-by-gutting-racial-gerrymandering\/\">arguably the most gerrymandered state<\/a>\u201d in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats\u2019 media allies also threw their bizarre hot takes into the mix. <\/p>\n<p>While assessing Wednesday\u2019s decision, CNN Supreme Court analyst Joan Biskupic <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/2049587089012899955?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed<\/a> that \u201cit matters for Donald Trump\u2019s own agenda, in terms of diminishing the ability to vote and go to the polls.\u201d She also seemingly attempted to invent a bogus controversy by tying the conservative justices\u2019 attendance at Tuesday\u2019s White House state dinner for King Charles III to the <em>Callais<\/em> decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd, coincidentally, just as an aside, those six conservatives were the six who were invited to Donald Trump\u2019s dinner last night, not with the three liberals,\u201d Biskupic said. <\/p>\n<p>Newsbusters Manging Editor Curtis Houck <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/curtis-houck\/2026\/04\/29\/hair-fire-abc-cnn-ms-now-seethe-over-scotus-case-black-districts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> similar unhinged commentary on MS NOW and ABC News. <\/p>\n<p>As described by Houck, MS NOW \u201chad senior legal reporter Lisa Rubin lead off by complaining congressional lines could now \u2018be drawn in a way that disperses the votes of African Americans in the state of Louisiana, such that their voices will not be heard in the way that we have traditionally understood the Voting Rights Act to support.&#8217;\u201d Meanwhile, ABC News correspondent Devin Dwyer \u201cbemoaned the \u2018setback for the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was passed to guarantee equality in how we vote\u2019 and fight \u2018systemic and historic racial discrimination\u2019 as if to suggest those things are returning to America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Newsbusters manging editor <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/curtis-houck\/2026\/04\/29\/hair-fire-abc-cnn-ms-now-seethe-over-scotus-case-black-districts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">documented<\/a> other insane legacy media reactions to the Supreme Court\u2019s decision. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Shawn Fleetwood is a staff writer for The Federalist and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington.
