The stripped language would have prevented states and courts from penalizing pesticide companies for not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-pandemic-coordinator-cdc-will-allow-vaccinated-people-more-privileges-to-take-off-mask\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Pandemic Coordinator: CDC Will \u2018Allow\u2019 Vaccinated People \u2018More Privileges\u2019 To Take Off Mask\">including health concerns<\/a> on product labels beyond what the EPA recognizes-something critics said would have protected companies from lawsuits over cancers and other illnesses linked to thes chemicals.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment passed 280-142, backed by 73 Republicans and 207 Democrats, while 135 Republicans and 6 Democrats voted against. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who proposed the amendment, said she and other holdouts would block the bill unless the pesticide provision was removed. Supporters framed the change as a win for states\u2019 rights and public health, while other farm bill advocates and Republicans who opposed the measure argued it was important for maintaining access to \u201cwell-regulated\u201d pesticide tools.<\/p>\n<p>The effort succeeded for MAHA on this front,but other MAHA-backed amendments failed,including proposals to restrict SNAP purchases of soda and to <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >end mandatory electronic identification tags<\/a> for cattle.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<article class=\"fn-body\">\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/maha\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"11799\">Make America Healthy Again<\/a> faction of the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/republican\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"926\">Republican<\/a> Party got its first major policy win in Congress on Thursday.  <\/p>\n<p>MAHA successfully stripped a provision from the farm bill that would have blocked states and courts from penalizing pesticide companies that do not include health concerns on their labels beyond those recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL). Meanwhile, 135 Republicans and 6 Democrats opposed the measure. California Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) wrote in a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepThomasMassie\/status\/2049863425304535172?s=20\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepThomasMassie\/status\/2049863425304535172?s=20\">post on X<\/a>. \u201cThe special provisions for pesticides (and herbicides like glyphosate) was just stripped from the farm bill by an overwhelming majority!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the vote on the amendment, Luna threatened that she and other Republican holdouts would \u201cslaughter\u201d the farm bill if the pesticide provisions were not stripped from the legislation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you thank you to everyone \u2014 including the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/MAHA?src=hashtag_click\">#MAHA<\/a> activists who raised hell and said loud and clear: we cannot support a Farm Bill that puts chemical company profits over the health of Americans!\u201d Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-ME) <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/chelliepingree\/status\/2049284925308707164?s=46\">wrote on X. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>While Democrats and some Republicans supported this amendment, other farm bill advocates were not happy with the changes. Luna called the lawmakers opposing her amendment <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepLuna\/status\/2049282203478016382?s=20\">\u201csick freaks.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have now been accosted by two Republican members of Congress for trying to remove pesticide liability protections,\u201d Luna <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepLuna\/status\/2049534689401069767?s=20\">wrote on X<\/a>. \u201cBoth of which claim to be \u201cGod-fearing\u201d Christians, but are shilling for cancer causing pesticide companies. Yikes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>House Agriculture Committee Chairman G.T. Thompson (R-PA) argued against the pesticide reform in the House Rules Committee meeting, saying it is \u201ccritical for securing access to the well-regulated pesticide tools,\u201d as Republicans have been honing in on food affordability ahead of November\u2019s election.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4548553\/house-gop-ice-cbp-funding-reconciliation\/\">HOUSE ADVANCES $70 BILLION IN ICE AND CBP FUNDING VIA RECONCILIATION <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rep.
