Hawley files counter-complaint against Senate Dems\">incited violence<\/a>, arguing that political disagreement is acceptable but encouraging violence makes someone part of the problem.<\/p>\n<p>Vance described not initially understanding what was happening when chaos erupted during a shooting and said agents later told him they had to leave. He said guests ducked as the Secret Service rushed in to protect Trump and other officials, and that one agent was shot in the chest but is expected to recover becuase a Kevlar vest stopped the bullets. Vance also pointed to the death of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, arguing that some people attempted to justify his killer\u2019s actions. I had no idea what it was.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>During the commotion, guests in the ballroom ducked under tables as Secret Service stormed the event to protect Trump, Vance, and other Cabinet members. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then an agent comes and whispers in my ear, basically says, \u2018Sir, we have to leave,&#8217;\u201d Vance said.<\/p>\n<p>During the melee, an agent was shot in the chest, but luckily the bullets did not pierce their Kevlar vest. The agent is expected to recover.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just feel very grateful to them and very grateful for what they do,\u201d Vance said of the Secret Service. \u201cAnd frankly, grateful to God that that agent who was shot was not seriously hurt.
