She argued the attack is connected to a broader culture that has dehumanized her and others following the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n<p>Kirk said she attended the dinner to confront journalists in person, after feeling she was being targeted and mocked. She criticized reporters for becoming desensitized and prioritizing clips over real engagement, and she referenced a moment where a journalist allegedly responded to her situation with sarcasm about how \u201cspecial\u201d the event felt.<\/p>\n<p>She also condemned far-left attitudes and comments she linked to insensitive coverage, including remarks by Jimmy Kimmel ahead of the shooting. No serious injuries were reported, but one agent was shot on his bulletproof vest and is recovering. <\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Kirk slammed the journalists at the dinner.
