Organizers emphasized compassion for women in crisis pregnancy, hope for those affected by abortion, and boldness in public life, with commentary targeting Democrat leadership in Virginia. Several lawmakers, pro-life medical advocates, and activists spoke, and a Mass followed the rally, encouraging prayer for political conversion even amid disagreement and what they called \u201cgreat evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The article also discusses redistricting\u2019s impact,noting that an extreme redistricting amendment passed after a \u201cpeople\u2019s vote\u201d eliminated four pro-life Republican districts,weakening pro-life portrayal in the state House. (And Pro-... Americans)\">pro-life supporters<\/a> to stay politically active. They encouraged boldness in the public square as radically pro-abortion Gov. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va., leads a Democrat majority threatening basic rights to life in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-life legislators stood behind newly elected <a href=\"https:\/\/house.vga.virginia.gov\/members\/H0394\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Del. Karen<\/a> Hamilton (R-62), who spoke about Democrats prioritizing the codification of unlimited abortion in Virginia law and the many discrepancies in Virginia code regarding human life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSadly in Virginia, babies are only valuable if they are wanted,\u201d Hamilton said. Nothing though, she added, is impossible with God.  <\/p>\n<p>Pro-life physicians rallied behind Dr. Christina Francis, <a href=\"https:\/\/aaplog.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists<\/a> CEO, as she affirmed the dignity of each patient, both born and in the womb. Doctors held signs encouraging Virginians to vote no to unlimited abortion as the issue makes its way to a ballot measure vote this November. <\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>\n<div>\n<p>         <span>Image Credit<\/span>Ashley Bateman       <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Former pro-choice feminist turned pro-life activist <a href=\"https:\/\/catholicspeakers.com\/profiles\/leslie-davis-blackwell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leslie Davis Blackwell<\/a> gave a resounding speech, detailing the long-term suffering caused by her own abortions and offering post-abortive women a place of healing and support through Silent No More, an awareness campaign of 22,000 women.<\/p>\n<p>Following the rally and march, Fr. Nicholas Redmond offered a Mass in thanks to God for the gift of human life at St. Peter\u2019s Pro-Cathedral, encouraging the faithful to pray for the conversion of political opponents, even in the midst of great evil.<\/p>\n<h2>Redistricting Impact<\/h2>\n<p>The state\u2019s eighth annual march comes on the heels of a people\u2019s vote favoring an extreme redistricting amendment in Virginia that eliminated four pro-life Republican represented districts the previous day. <\/p>\n<p>The loss of these voices in the House of Representatives is a devastating blow not just to Virginians, but for the protection of life around the country, said Olivia Gans Turner, Virginia Society for Human Life president on Tuesday. The pro-life Republicans ousted represented a \u201ccritical\u201d opposition to unlimited abortion, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The redistricting referendum, voted on April 21 as a ballot measure, is already facing legal action through <a href=\"https:\/\/wset.com\/news\/local\/lawsuits-pending-at-virginia-supreme-court-over-redistricting-referendum-general-assembly-tazewell-county-ballot-wording-amendment-legislature-redistricting-congressional-maps-vote-april-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multiple lawsuits<\/a> for violating procedural rules and deliberately misleading voters. It was blocked by a circuit court judge just one day after passing.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>\n<div>\n<p>         <span>Image Credit<\/span>Ashley Bateman       <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Next Up: Unlimited Abortion<\/h2>\n<p>Keynote speaker Mayra Rodriguez, a former Planned Parenthood employee who won <span>a <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/general-news-2af78270840847429e93d5f8d21a1db7\" target=\"_blank\">lawsuit<\/a><\/span>  against the abortion provider when she was fired after repeatedly reporting concerns to her superiors, directed pro-lifers to be active voters. Referencing the redistricting referendum she encouraged the crowd to not just march today, but \u201cbe ready for tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That \u201ctomorrow\u201d will come in November, when Virginians will vote on an extreme abortion amendment <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/01\/20\/virginia-democrats-are-about-to-make-northams-baby-killing-comments-reality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democrats prioritized<\/a> in the first 2026 session. Passed along party lines, the amendment seeks to dismantle the few protections still in place for the unborn in Virginia, essentially codifying unlimited abortion without basic guardrails.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment\u2019s language is broad. It includes no age limit, no parental rights, and fails to explicitly ban partial-birth abortions. There is no inclusion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/75-migrants-including-small-child-found-locked-in-refrigerated-trailer-near-border-in-texas\/\" title=\"75 Migrants, Including Small Child, Found Locked in Refrigerated Trailer near Border in Texas\">required medical treatment<\/a> for babies who survive an abortion. Freedom of conscience protections are absent. Anyone \u201caiding\u201d a woman in killing her unborn child is granted special protections.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Democrats are testing the courts; the leading language of the redistricting measure was quickly struck down, but will likely now battle through appeals before reaching the state\u2019s Supreme Court. <\/p>\n<p>Misleading and obscure language in the abortion amendment will test the ethics of the justice system in the Commonwealth.
