The author rejects this as misleading, claiming political violence is overwhelmingly driven by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pennsylvania-court-rules-states-mail-in-voting-law-is-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"Pennsylvania Court Rules State\u2019s Mail-In-Voting Law Is \u2018Unconstitutional\u2019\">left-wing actors<\/a> and sympathizers, citing examples such as alleged left-wing assassins targeting Trump, celebrations of Charlie Kirk\u2019s murder, and the killing of Brian Thompson by Luigi Mangione (presented as a left-aligned \u201cfolk hero\u201d case).  <\/p>\n<p>It further claims left-wing riots are treated by the press as legitimate \u201cpolitical speech,\u201d while conservative events require more security due to threats and disruption. The author cites polls and studies alleging left-leaning Americans are more likely to justify political violence than conservatives, and argues that media outlets ignore or underreport these patterns.  <\/p>\n<p>The text uses references to figures like Jimmy Kimmel and comments from establishment liberals (including Steve Schmidt and media hosts) to assert that elite left discourse normalizes or inflames political hostility. It then criticizes Robert P. George for urging respectful dialog rather than escalation, asserting that, in the author\u2019s view, the situation is not disputable politics but an ongoing \u201clife-or-death\u201d conflict with radicals who seek to terrorize and harm conservatives. The author concludes that opposing political violence may require dismantling left-controlled institutions, enforcing laws aggressively, and using force if necessary-because arguing the perpetrators out of violence is treated as impractical.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>In the immediate aftermath of the <em>fourth<\/em> assassination attempt on President Trump this past weekend at the White House Correspondents\u2019 Dinner, we heard the familiar chorus of voices in the corporate media and political establishment calling for calm, for unity, for lowering the temperature, toning down the rhetoric. We heard the same thing after Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination last September, and after Trump was shot in the face by a would-be assassin on the campaign trail in July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the people saying this pretend it\u2019s a \u201cboth sides\u201d problem, that the political left and right are both at risk of becoming dangerously violent, and that for the sake of our democracy we all need to calm down.<\/p>\n<p>What nonsense. There is <em>only one side<\/em> in America today that has a persistent and very real-world problem with political violence, and everyone knows it\u2019s the left.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the left that has produced four would-be assassins of President Trump. It\u2019s the left that produced Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassin and the sneering online hordes who celebrated his murder. It\u2019s the left that produced Luigi Mangione, who allegedly killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in cold blood, and overnight became a folk hero to his fellow travelers.<\/p>\n<p>The left riots and burns down cities in a way that makes Jan. 6 look tame, and the corporate press justifies it as a form of political speech. The left regularly threatens conservative speakers and events, forcing organizers to provide a level of security that liberal events never need. The left foments violence not just by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ilhan-omar-promotes-photo-falsely-showing-dead-palestinian-children\/\" title=\"Ilhan Omar shares misleading photo of deceased Palestinian children.\">spreading false propaganda<\/a> about conservatives but by funding the supposed right-wing extremists they warn about, as the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >recent federal criminal indictment<\/a> of the Southern Poverty Law Center has shown.<\/p>\n<p>Surveys consistently find a shocking tolerance for political violence among left-leaning Americans that simply is not present on the right. A <a href=\"https:\/\/yougov.com\/en-us\/articles\/52960-charlie-kirk-americans-political-violence-poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouGov poll last year<\/a> found a whopping <em>42 percent of self-described liberals<\/em> believe political violence is sometimes justifiable (only 9 percent of conservatives said the same). An <a href=\"https:\/\/networkcontagion.us\/reports\/4-7-25-ncri-assassination-culture-brief\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">April 2025 Rutgers University study<\/a> on political violence found that 56 percent of self-identifying left-wing respondents justified murdering Trump, while 50 percent said the same of Elon Musk. If these numbers were reversed, and showed massive support for political violence on the right, it\u2019s all the corporate press would talk about.<\/p>\n<p>As it is, the press won\u2019t even admit the left\u2019s predilection for political violence, even though the reality of it is borne out nearly every week \u2014 and not just in the form of trans mass shooters targeting Christian schoolchildren and churches. When Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s show was briefly suspended last year following Kimmel\u2019s vile commentary on Kirk\u2019s assassination (including his false assertion that Kirk\u2019s assassin was MAGA), a man <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/skepticaliblog\/status\/2048453862663897133?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shot up an ABC affiliate station in Sacramento<\/a>. To be clear, the alleged shooter (a <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/abc-affiliate-sacramento-gunfire-kimmel-protest-1236524751\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">former legislative director<\/a> for the California Federation of Teachers) was outraged at ABC for suspending Kimmel, <em>not<\/em> at Kimmel for lying about Kirk\u2019s assassin.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Kimmel, a few days before Cole Allen allegedly burst into the WHCD venue to kill Trump, Kimmel aired <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Breaking911\/status\/2048517635088773466?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a fake WHCD routine<\/a> in which he pretended to host the dinner. As part of the routine he said, \u201cMrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.\u201d After the assassination attempt, First Lady Melania Trump rightly <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FLOTUS\/status\/2048769128513585618?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called out Kimmel<\/a>, saying, \u201cPeople like Kimmel shouldn\u2019t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate.\u201d (The president and first lady both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/trumps-call-for-abc-to-fire-jimmy-kimmel-again-after-morbid-joke-about-first-lady\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> on ABC to fire Kimmel for his violent rhetoric.)<\/p>\n<p>Kimmel isn\u2019t even an outlier on the American left. He\u2019s representative \u2014 a normie leftist. Minutes after the assassination attempt at the WHCD, Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/realDailyWire\/status\/2048244129503510957?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">blamed Trump for almost getting murdered<\/a>, saying the president is \u201cpoisoning the rhetoric\u201d in America, and that he\u2019s a \u201cvile and disgusting man.\u201d The idea that Trump has it coming is a <em>mainstream view<\/em> on the left. Tune into CNN or <em>The View<\/em>, and you will hear versions of this violence-inspiring rhetoric spewing forth from the mouths of supposedly respectable, establishment liberals.<\/p>\n<p>And yet somehow whenever there\u2019s a high-profile act of political violence from the left \u2014 this time not from a nutjob but a man who simply believes all the mainstream left\u2019s conspiracy theories about Trump and decided to act on them \u2014 we get the same brain-dead \u201cboth-sides\u201d scolding from figures on the establishment right.<\/p>\n<p>This time around, it was Princeton professor and professional nice guy Robert P. George, who <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/McCormickProf\/status\/2048527309250965594?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">took to X<\/a> the day after the assassination attempt to ask if everyone, \u201cright or left, MAGA or anti-MAGA, Republican or Democrat,\u201d could just \u201cstop catastrophizing and trying to get everyone on your side worked up into a rage?\u201d What we need to do, George insisted, is talk it out and make sure we don\u2019t demonize each other. \u201cWe need to argue with our political adversaries \u2014 passionately perhaps \u2014 but with respect for their humanity and dignity. We don\u2019t need to destroy them. That mustn\u2019t be our aim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The left is manifestly trying to destroy the right, to kill prominent conservatives and Republicans. But Professor George insists you mustn\u2019t destroy them first, just argue with them. <\/p>\n<p>It takes a certain trained submissiveness to respond to recurring leftist political violence in this country with such extreme supineness. It\u2019s as if George thinks we\u2019re in an argument with people who simply want a marginally higher tax rate, and things have gotten a little heated.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, we\u2019re in a life-or-death contest with bloodthirsty radicals who would very much like to terrorize us without end and orphan our children if they can. It\u2019s not \u201ccatastrophizing\u201d to say that, it\u2019s simply to acknowledge what\u2019s actually happening. When ordinary Democrats and liberals publicly celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk, it\u2019s not \u201cdemonizing\u201d anyone to point out that such behavior is in fact demonic and dangerous and has no place in a civilized society. To admit that most of our institutions are complicit in the creation of violent terrorists and would-be assassins is a plain admission of the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Under these circumstances, yes, we need to destroy them, we need to stop them. If that means dismantling institutions controlled by the left, then we must dismantle them. If we have to change the law to do that, or apply the law to its fullest possible extent, then by all means we need to do that. To paraphrase Aragorn, war is upon us whether we would risk it or not. We are not going to argue these people out of their commitment to political violence. They are resorting to unjust force, and only just force will stop them.<\/p>\n<p>Anything less means allowing them to carry on a campaign of violence and terror against us and our families. Maybe Professor George, ensconced in his ivory tower, is OK with that. He knows they will not come for him. Not at first, anyway.<\/p>\n<p>But I\u2019m not OK with it.
