A would-be assassin reportedly broke into a White House correspondents’ dinner over the weekend, and officials admitted that while security discussions occurred, canceling the visit was not considered realistic once detailed schedules were already in motion.

The article outlines key events-including tea, a garden party, formal welcome with military honors, a joint meeting with Congress, and a state dinner-while noting a few twists: a likely meeting with NYC Mayor zohran Mamdani on the Sept. 11 memorial and a “block party” in Virginia. The itinerary also omits a proposed meeting between Camilla and Jeffrey Epstein victims, which Buckingham palace says could interfere with ongoing legal and police matters.

Throughout the visit, British officials and royal observers will watch closely for any political signaling or off-the-cuff clashes, especially given longstanding tensions between the U.S. and Britain. Despite this, the piece suggests Trump’s personal affinity for the Windsors may make his rapport with Charles smoother than his relationship with Britain’s current government.

Two hundred and fifty years after the United States declared independence from Great Britain, the great-great-great-great-great grandson of King George III will be strolling the streets of Washington, D.C., to see how the revolutionaries are faring these days.

King Charles III is following through on plans for a state visit with President Donald Trump at the White House this week — the most refined, powerless aristocrat in the world side-by-side with the “blue-collar billionaire” shaping global politics in his image.

Recommended Stories

German chancellor says US is being ‘humiliated’ by Iran

Iran vows massive strikes if oil infrastructure ‘explodes’ from US blockade

Viktor Orban will leave Parliament after election defeat

Trump did little to moderate his speech in the weeks leading up to this royal engagement: lambasting British Prime Minister Keir Starmer as “weak,” writing off the British Navy’s vessels as “toys,” and questioning the very nature of the two countries’ long-celebrated “Special Relationship.”

The Pentagon even floated the idea of questioning British sovereignty over the Falkland Islands to punish the United Kingdom for a perceived lack of cooperation on Operation Epic Fury.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump greet King Charles III and Queen Camilla as they arrive at the White House, Monday, April 27, 2026, in Washington.
