Not only is the abortion giant <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/13\/annual-report-planned-parenthood-aborted-more-babies-than-ever-got-more-taxpayer-cash-than-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">killing more babies than ever<\/a>, but it&rsquo;s also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/gender\/commentary\/dont-defend-planned-parenthoods-gender-affirming-care-defund-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dispensing castrating drugs<\/a>&nbsp;to confused minors.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-lifers-press-jeanine-pirro-to-investigate-late-term-abortions\/\" title=\"Pro-Lifers Press Jeanine Pirro To Investigate Late-Term ...s\">pro-life organizations led<\/a> by Live Action sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.datocms-assets.com\/131250\/1776881529-pro-life-coalition-letter-to-senate.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> to Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Wednesday, urging Congress to deprive abortion and &ldquo;gender transition intervention&rdquo; businesses like Planned Parenthood of taxpayer funding for the 10 years permitted under budget reconciliation limits.<\/p>\n<p>The April 22 letter emphasized that Congress previously prohibited federal funding for Planned Parenthood for one year in 2025 using the budget reconciliation process, a move that Collins and Murkowski <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/5377830-collins-murkowski-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">also opposed<\/a>. The groups also noted that halting funding again &ldquo;would represent one of the most meaningful pro-taxpayer reforms Congress can enact,&rdquo; a hint that the GOP can still bolster what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/third-gop-voters-warn-may-sit-out-midterms-party-abandons-pro-life-fight-poll-finds\">some polling says is floundering motivation<\/a> among Republican voters ahead of the midterms.<\/p>\n<p>That same day, Sen. Josh Hawley <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/2044854738022539572\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">followed through on his promise<\/a> to file an amendment to ban federal funding for the abortion giant.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Taxpayer dollars should never fund Planned Parenthood&rsquo;s abortions or gender transition insanity,&rdquo; Hawley <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/2047017003299336684?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>In his speech about the amendment, Hawley asked his colleagues a &ldquo;simple and direct question.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Should we use federal tax dollars to pay for transgender surgeries and treatments for minor children? In doing so, they greenlit billions of taxpayer dollars to fund transgender experimentation on our kids,&rdquo; Hawley told The Federalist in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>Now, all eyes are on House Republicans, who are expected to vote on the reconciliation legislation <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/5845620-ice-border-patrol-reconciliation-house-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as early as next week<\/a>, to see whether they will intervene and stop the flow of millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood with their own amendment.<\/p>\n<p>It was House Republicans&rsquo; version of the Big Beautiful Bill last year, after all, that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1\/text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promised<\/a>&nbsp;that no Medicaid dollars &ldquo;shall be used to make payments to a prohibited entity for items and services furnished during [a] 10-year period.&rdquo; The GOP Senate was ultimately responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/5377656-senate-gop-provision-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cutting the provision down<\/a>&nbsp;to a mere 12-month ban on taxpayer funding for abortion and castration businesses like Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<p>The Federalist asked Speaker Mike Johnson if he was aware of any such amendment and whether he would promote its inclusion in the package, but did not receive a response.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This cannot go on.
