In a discussion with his brother Buckley, Carlson acknowledged that those who backed Trump-including themselves who wrote speeches and campaigned for him-are implicated, and that simply saying “I changed my mind” isn’t enough. The conversation also explored whether Trump’s betrayals were ever the plan, with Buckley suggesting that donations from Miriam Adelson might have helped shape a pro-Israel stance, though Carlson remained skeptical that money alone explains policy. The piece notes Adelson’s large donations and Musk’s even larger contributions, as well as a later public rift and eventual reconciliation between Musk and Trump. It also references Carlson’s earlier criticisms of Trump, including a controversial Easter message and comparisons to Christian imagery, framing some of Trump’s behavior in spiritual terms

https://www.westernjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Ben-Working-Feature-Image-2026-04-21T125905.836.jpg
[33651
5447,38157,32171,40674,33488
post-2593359","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-western-journal","tag-apology","tag-conservative-media","tag-political-commentary","tag-trump-2024","tag-tucker-carlson
https://www.westernjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Ben-Working-Feature-Image-2026-04-21T125905.836.jpg
["GET
