Randy Fine, a Republican, blasted the &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-harris-admin-announces-protected-status-for-immigrants-from-country-plagued-by-islamic-terrorism\/\" title=\"Biden-Harris Admin Announces Protected Status for Immigrants from Country Plagued by Islamic Terrorism\">temporary protected status&#038;rdquo<\/a>; concept &mdash; noting that there doesn&rsquo;t seem to be much that&rsquo;s &ldquo;temporary&rdquo; about it.<\/p>\n<p>What began <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/Politics\/HaitiEarthquake\/haiti-earthquake-illegal-haitians-protected-status-quake\/story?id=9570995\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">during President Barack Obama&rsquo;s administration<\/a> as a humanitarian gesture for illegal immigrants from Haiti in the wake of the Caribbean country&rsquo;s devastating 2010 earthquake has become a seemingly fixed feature of American life, he said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This whole thing is a scam,&rdquo; he said, according to NBC News.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I did not come here to protect Haitians. I came to protect for the good of our country and the only discharge petition I will support is the one that discharges all of these people back to Haiti.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Those deportations could still be in the cards. The bill passed in the House on Thursday faces an uncertain future in the Republican-controlled Senate. And even if it were to pass both chambers of Congress, the chance of Trump signing it is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/graphic-trump-s-clip-third-world-haitian-illegal-allegedly-murdering-florida-mom-hammer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtually zero<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was Trump&rsquo;s Department of Homeland Security, after all, that ended the temporary protected status <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-administration-ending-deportation-protection-500000-haitians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">last year<\/a>.
