Days later, the story remains primarily confined to local reports, with very few national outlets highlighting the tragedy. Here are the details you won&rsquo;t see from the propaganda press. <\/p>\n<p>Eri Perez was reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsaw.com\/2026\/04\/14\/driver-accused-hitting-killing-2-boys-was-so-drunk-trooper-had-hold-him-up-solicitor-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">too drunk to stand<\/a> at the scene of the crash after he allegedly lost control of his car, hitting 12-year-old Dereon James Robinson and 9-year-old Mikhail-Lee Smith &ldquo;at a high rate of speed.&rdquo; The two boys were riding their bikes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxcarolina.com\/2026\/04\/12\/coroners-office-schp-investigating-spartanburg-co-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on a sidewalk<\/a> at the time of the crash and died of their injuries. Authorities charged Perez with two counts of felony DUI resulting in death.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1665052354\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The mother of one of the boys was walking behind them at the time of the crash and witnessed the tragedy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsaw.com\/2026\/04\/14\/driver-accused-hitting-killing-2-boys-was-so-drunk-trooper-had-hold-him-up-solicitor-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/illegal-immigrant-driver-charged-dui-car-veers-road-kills-two-children-bikes-police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a>. She said she &ldquo;watched [the driver] almost hit me, and I then ran to my son while he bled to death.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>South Carolina Seventh Circuit Solicitor Barry Barnette said Perez confessed that he had been drinking heavily throughout the weekend ahead of the crash, local CBS affiliate WSAW-TV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsaw.com\/2026\/04\/14\/driver-accused-hitting-killing-2-boys-was-so-drunk-trooper-had-hold-him-up-solicitor-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>. Barnette also &ldquo;said Perez was so intoxicated at the crash site he couldn&rsquo;t do a sobriety test, and a trooper with the South Carolina Highway Patrol had to hold him up.&rdquo; Perez was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wyff4.com\/article\/two-boys-killed-highway-crash-suspect-ice-detainer\/71007408\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied bond<\/a> after a hearing on Monday. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/illegal-immigrant-driver-charged-dui-car-veers-road-kills-two-children-bikes-police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Local police stated<\/a> he is illegally present in the U.S., and &ldquo;an immigration detainer has been placed on him,&rdquo; Fox News reported &mdash; one of the only national outlets to pick up the story.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time drivers present in the United States illegally have posed a threat to Americans on the road. The Federalist has <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/09\/theres-no-sanctuary-for-family-of-woman-allegedly-killed-by-illegal-alien\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> on 20-year-old Katie Abraham, who was killed last January after another drunk illegal alien slammed his vehicle into the car she was riding in at a stoplight. As The Federalist&rsquo;s Breccan Thies <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/02\/11\/heres-where-you-can-report-illegal-alien-truck-drivers-before-they-kill-more-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> earlier this year, Sen. Jim Banks, R-Ind.,&nbsp;established a tip line where Americans can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heres-where-you-can-report-illegal-alien-truck-drivers-before-they-kill-more-americans\/\" title=\"Report ... Truck ...s Before They Kill More Americans\">report illegal alien truck drivers<\/a>. The tip line came &ldquo;after numerous illegal aliens who received commercial drivers&rsquo; licenses (CDLs) have killed or injured American citizens while operating their vehicles dangerously,&rdquo; Thies reported.<\/p>\n<p>The incident in South Carolina also comes less than a month after an illegal alien from Venezuela was charged in the murder of 18-year-old college freshman Sheridan Gorman in Illinois. Jose Medina-Medina allegedly shot Gorman in the head while she was taking a nighttime walk to a beach with friends.
