A regional official said Iran and Oman would also charge vessels for transit, with Iran to use this money for reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If attacks against Iran are halted, our Powerful Armed Forces will cease their defensive operations,&rdquo; Araghchi&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/araghchi\/status\/2041655156215799821?s=20\">said<\/a>. &ldquo;For a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran&rsquo;s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Araghchi&rsquo;s statement did not immediately make clear what the council meant by &ldquo;technical limitations&rdquo; or how Iran&rsquo;s armed forces would coordinate with transiting vessels.<\/p>\n<p>With the agreement coming before Trump&rsquo;s 8 p.m. deadline for a peace deal, Trump did not follow through on <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4518438\/trump-warns-iran-whole-civilization-die-deal-struck\/\">his Tuesday morning threat<\/a> that Iran&rsquo;s &ldquo;whole civilization will die tonight&rdquo; if the regime did not strike a deal. Instead, Trump celebrated the ceasefire agreement on <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/truth-social\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"11116\">Truth Social<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks.
