The Daily Mail claimed that the bullet used in the killing did not match the rifle allegedly linked to suspect Tyler Robinson,and Robinson’s defense asked the ATF to testify,potentially delaying the preliminary hearing by six months. The defense argued the bullet could not be conclusively tied to the rifle.

Experts contacted by Fox News urged caution, noting that “unable to identify” does not equate to “ruled out,” and that inconclusive testing is not the same as exoneration. They emphasized that prosecutors may still have other corroborating evidence. A former ATF agent explained that ballistic ties can be tough to establish when a bullet fragments after passing through a body, though shell casing DNA found at the crime scene reportedly connected to the suspect’s weapon, wich prosecutors view as strong evidence.

Additional laboratory testing in the case was still pending at the time. Social media reaction to the report was heated and skeptical, with commentators arguing not to overinterpret preliminary findings. the piece portrays a contentious narrative with competing interpretations of ballistic evidence and ongoing forensic work shaping the case.

    Read more…

The saga of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk took a major turn this week following a bombshell report.

But just how much of a “bomb” was this report? Experts don’t seem so sure it’s the smoking gun, no pun intended, that many cynics — who aren’t buying the official federal narrative on Kirk’s death — have been clamoring for.

Late Monday, the U.K. Daily Mail published a report with this rather alarming headline: “Bullet used to kill Charlie Kirk did NOT match rifle allegedly used by suspect Tyler Robinson, new court filing claims.”

Robinson’s team brought this allegation to court in an obvious bid to defend their client, but also to call upon the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to testify about this potential inconsistency. This would push back the preliminary hearing in Robinson’s case by six months.

The Daily Mail reported that Robinson’s defense attorneys “now argue that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ‘was unable to identify the bullet recovered at autopsy to the rifle allegedly tied to Mr Robinson.’”

Understandably, social media — especially the cynical corners — had a field day with this report. If the shell casing has his DNA on it, [prosecutors] are solid.”

The former FBI agent, meanwhile, bluntly explained what the shell casing DNA means, regardless of the Daily Mail’s report: “That’s a pretty significant piece of evidence for the prosecution.

“And pretty damning for the defense.”

Additional lab testing in the case is pending.

       * Name

       *

      * Message

* All fields are required.

Success!

       function firefly_sc() { if( typeof window.captchaPublicKey==typeof undefined ){ console.error('window.captchaPublicKey is not defined'); } grecaptcha.execute( window.captchaPublicKey, { action: 'submit_correction' } ).then( function( token ) { var opts={ action: 'firefly_sc_submit', name: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="name"]' ).value, : document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name=""]' ).value, message: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="message"]' ).value, post_id: firefly_post_id, cap_token: token } var inputs=[ 'name', '', 'message' ]; for( var i=0; i <inputs.length; i++ ) if( ! The Daily Mail ran a story headlined that the bullet that killed Kirk did not match the rifle linked to suspect Tyler Robinson, and Robinson’s lawyers asked the ATF to testify about the potential discrepancy, which could push the preliminary hearing back by six months.
