And now we&rsquo;re talking about affordability, and now we&rsquo;re denying them to their paychecks.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Worse yet, Democrats have staged this partial shutdown despite any plausible objective besides creating chaos in hopes of harming Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats, of course, would love to dictate how Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents do their jobs. After all, Democrats have spoken in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disturbing-videos-late-wednesday-day-shooting-gov-walz-bragging-war-feds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bellicose terms<\/a> about the need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ice-responds-to-disgraceful-new-tv-commercial-that-is-a-direct-attack-on-ice-agents\/\" title=\"... Responds to &#039;Disgraceful&#039; New TV Commercial That Is a Direct Attack on ... ...\">defend illegal immigrants<\/a> against ICE.<\/p>\n<p>Last summer, however, President Donald Trump&rsquo;s &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-admin-rolls-big-beautiful-bills-health-savings-accounts-lower-taxable-income-earn-interest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Beautiful Bill<\/a>&rdquo; ensured ICE funding. So Democrats have no legislative path to hamstringing the agency.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;And we knew going into it that shutdown of DHS would have zero impact on forcing any kinds of changes at ICE, and that&rsquo;s where we are right now,&rdquo; Fetterman continued. &ldquo;So what is it that we really get out of it? You know, all we&rsquo;ve done is, we&rsquo;ve punished TSA and other employees under DHS and made us less safe, and now creating mass chaos in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pence-team-responds-to-calls-for-apologies-over-buttigieg-paternity-leave-comments\/\" title=\"Pence team responds to calls for apologies over Buttigieg paternity leave comments\">air traffic system<\/a> across America.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the Democrats&rsquo; shutdown created staffing shortages that snarled air travel. On Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-least-13-airports-will-receive-ice-agents-help-tsa-shortage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump deployed ICE agents<\/a> to help bring order to some of America&rsquo;s largest airports.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Fetterman also spoke to Fox News&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/sean-hannity-apologizes-john-fetterman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sean Hannity<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m at the airport every week,&rdquo; the senator said in a clip posted to the social media platform X.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I talk to countless TSA agents. And they are all hurting, they are angry, they are frustrating, they&rsquo;re exhausting, too, what they&rsquo;ve been put through.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Now, these are not wealthy people. They earn around $50,000 a year. That should be our wheelhouse. I mean, they&rsquo;re union, government workers, and we refuse to give them a paycheck.
