The article closes with a byline identifying Jordan Boyd, a writer for The Federalist.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><em>This article contains graphic content unsuitable for younger readers<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most prolific serial killers and abortionists in American history is dead after spending the last 12 years in a Pennsylvania prison for brutally murdering babies born-alive. <\/p>\n<p>Kermit Gosnell&rsquo;s passing at 85 years old was <a href=\"https:\/\/phelimmcaleer.substack.com\/p\/exclusive-kermit-gosnell-is-dead?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&amp;utm_medium=web&amp;triedRedirect=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first reported by Phelim McAleer&nbsp;and&nbsp;Ann McElhinney<\/a> on Monday, March 23. A spokeswoman with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections later confirmed to The Federalist that Gosnell was transferred from the State Correctional Institution Smithfield to an &ldquo;outside hospital&rdquo; where he eventually died on March 1 at 11:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of Gosnell&rsquo;s death is still unreported. If corporate media had their way, the countless deaths at Gosnell&rsquo;s hands will be the same. Instead, thanks to whistleblowers and a few journalists, including The Federalist&rsquo;s own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegospelcoalition.org\/blogs\/trevin-wax\/how-mollie-hemingway-introduced-the-nation-to-kermit-gosnell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Editor-In-Chief Mollie Hemingway<\/a>, Gosnell&rsquo;s crimes and, more importantly, his victims will never be forgotten.<\/p>\n<h2>The Crime<\/h2>\n<p>Gosnell is most known his work leading the &ldquo;Women&rsquo;s Medical Society&rdquo; abortion facility in a poor part of Philadelphia for more than 30 years. Before he ever opened his own abortion mill, however, Gosnell was already involved in brutal experiments that killed babies and injured women. <\/p>\n<p>In May 1973, the Philadelphia doctor placed razor-rigged coils in the wombs of 15 poverty-stricken pregnant women with the intent to slice up their unborn babies. The mass procedure, later dubbed the &ldquo;Mother&rsquo;s Day Massacre,&rdquo; caused nine of the women serious complications including <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2015\/05\/11\/planned-parenthood-and-kermit-gosnells-grisly-mothers-day-celebrations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;a punctured uterus, hemorrhage, infections and retained fetal remains.&rdquo;<\/a> Gosnell escaped punishment for his cruelty by fleeing the state.<\/p>\n<p>The Pennsylvania Department of Health first flagged a few of Gosnell&rsquo;s violations in 1989, 10 years after he first received approval to open his facility, such as failing to staff recovery rooms with licensed nurses.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Gosnell ignored the warnings and the law. He just paid his fines and knowingly continued the dangerous practice of employing unqualified personnel to administer dangerous drugs. It was his modus operandi,&rdquo; a January 2011 <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130415132215\/http:\/\/www.phila.gov\/districtattorney\/pdfs\/grandjurywomensmedical.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grand jury document states<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The state also overlooked the <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/archive\/7906881\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dozens of lawsuits<\/a> filed against Gosnell and even ceased inspections of his practice entirely in 1993 <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/archive\/7906881\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to appease Pennsylvania&rsquo;s pro-abortion politicians.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was until a 2010 that a raid prompted by a federal investigation into Gosnell&rsquo;s illegal &ldquo;pill mill&rdquo; operation confirmed the worst of whistleblowers&rsquo; fears. Gosnell&rsquo;s facility, dubbed a &ldquo;House of Horrors&rdquo; by&nbsp;the FBI and state police who raided it, revealed unsanitary conditions, broken medical equipment, and untrained and unlicensed staff, including teenagers. Investigators reported seeing (and smelling) animal urine and feces-soaked stairs, blood-stained blankets, furniture, and floors, and the remains of 45 babies&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130415132215\/http:\/\/www.phila.gov\/districtattorney\/pdfs\/grandjurywomensmedical.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;haphazardly stored in bags, milk jugs, orange juice cartons, and even in cat-food containers.&rdquo;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My comprehension of the English language can&rsquo;t adequately describe the barbaric nature of Dr. Gosnell,&rdquo; Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/id\/wbna41154527\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a> shortly after Gosnell&rsquo;s arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 20 percent of the infants recovered were reportedly murdered after 24 weeks, Pennsylvania&rsquo;s gestational cutoff for permissible abortions. Another three evidently had their spinal cords snipped by Gosnell after birth.<\/p>\n<p>Gosnell&rsquo;s&nbsp;decades-long abortion racket, featuring many &ldquo;repeat customers&rdquo; and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/6SH8T\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">some racism against his own skin color<\/a>, not only involved butchering late-term and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-controlled-house-makes-protecting-born-alive-babies-condemning-violence-against-pro-lifers-priority-number-one\/\" title=\"GOP-Controlled House Makes Protecting Born Alive Babies, Condemning Violence Against Pro-Lifers Priority Number One\">born alive babies<\/a>, but also resulted in the overdose death of at least one female patient. <\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JZmoj1vjfAw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;gruesome&rdquo;<\/a>&nbsp;operation ultimately earned Gosnell hundreds of charges for murder, infanticide, conspiracy, conducting abortions in violation of the state&rsquo;s late-term prohibitions, and more. He was convicted of first-degree murder and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2013\/may\/15\/philadelphia-abortion-doctor-kermit-gosnell-sentenced-life\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eventually sentenced<\/a> to three life terms in 2013. Yet, he <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2015\/09\/22\/notorious-abortionist-kermit-gosnell-defends-himself-from-prison-in-new-documentary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">continued to defend his abortion record<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>The Cover-Up<\/h2>\n<p>Gosnell&rsquo;s crimes were brutal, barbaric, and bloody. Despite that, they were largely blacked out by the corporate media.<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press, ABC, CBS, NBC, and the New York Times all refused to cover the Gosnell case as it unfolded. As Hemingway exposed in 2013, one Washington Post writer had the audacity to suggest that details about the most prolific serial killer of all time is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getreligion.org\/getreligion\/2013\/04\/a-wapo-reporter-explains-her-personal-gosnell-blackout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;local crime&rdquo; story<\/a> and did not meet her &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/harris-not-a-shoo-in-for-hbcu-support-still-have-real-policy-issues-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Harris not a shoo-in for HBCU support: \u2018Still have real policy issues\u2019 - Washington Examiner\">policy issues&#038;rdquo<\/a>; criteria. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MZHemingway?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MZHemingway<\/a> Hi Molly &ndash; I cover policy for the Washington Post, not local crime, hence why I wrote about all the policy issues you mention.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Sarah Kliff (@sarahkliff) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sarahkliff\/status\/322425857635405824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 11, 2013<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>&ldquo;I mean, God forbid we go big and actually discuss abortion policy in general &ndash; something Kliff is usually quite keen to do. (Here&rsquo;s her 2010 piece for <em>Newsweek<\/em> headlined <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/newsweek\/2010\/04\/15\/remember-roe.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Remember Roe!<\/a>),&rdquo; Hemingway <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getreligion.org\/getreligion\/2013\/04\/a-wapo-reporter-explains-her-personal-gosnell-blackout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote in retort<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>WaPo&rsquo;s then-Executive Editor Martin Baron even went so far as to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/getreligion\/2013\/04\/wpost-demonstrates-how-not-to-respond-to-gosnell-critiques-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claim ignorance<\/a> of the three-year-old Gosnell raid story altogether.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Baron didn&rsquo;t seem to realize that a newsman being unaware of one of the most <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >important abortion-related stories<\/a> of the decade is self-indicting,&rdquo; Hemingway <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2013\/12\/18\/overt-media-censorship-pro-life-views\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When publications such as NYT couldn&rsquo;t avoid covering the national crime story any longer , they <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.nytimes.com\/takingnote.blogs.nytimes.com\/2013\/05\/14\/what-the-gosnell-case-doesnt-tell-us\/?_r=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">angled their articles<\/a> to put down pro-lifers and defend abortion giant Planned Parenthood.  <\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As if media curbing word about the atrocities committed by Gosnell wasn&rsquo;t enough, censors also sought to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/10\/11\/gosnell-media-censors-dont-want-see-true-crime-drama-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stifle films<\/a> and other media highlighting the abortionists&rsquo; crimes. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Jordan Boyd is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-cruelty-is-the-point-folks\/\" title=\"The Cruelty Is the Point, Folks\">award-winning staff writer<\/a> at The Federalist and producer of &ldquo;The Federalist Radio Hour.&rdquo; Her work has also been featured in The Daily Wire, Fox News, and RealClearPolitics.
