It highlights his presence in California’s jungle primary, noting that a Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll from March 9-15 shows Steyer at about 10 percent-double digits and just seven points behind the leading candidate, with him ahead of two Democratic favorites (Xavier Becerra and antonio Villaraigosa) and only a few points behind frontrunners Eric Swalwell and Katie Porter.

The article underscores that Steyer has managed to stay competitive in the race, suggesting he could shape California’s political future. It also reports that when asked to grade Governor Gavin Newsom, Steyer said he hadn’t followed Newsom closely enough to give a grade, a reply that drew reactions from supporters and opponents alike.
