An immigration judge recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mprnews.org\/story\/2026\/03\/18\/judge-orders-removal-of-liam-conejo-ramos-family-after-asylum-denial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied<\/a> Ramos&rsquo; family&rsquo;s asylum claim, meaning they&rsquo;re cleared for removal. That&rsquo;s another way of saying the case has been <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/02\/05\/deporting-illegal-aliens-isnt-complicated-dont-let-democrats-complicate-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adjudicated<\/a> and it&rsquo;s time for Liam to go home. But CNN anchor Sara Sidner instead chose to lie about the circumstances of that whole episode.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-909125506\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;Do you remember this image?&rdquo; she <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/eScarry\/status\/2035070055885816270?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> with a photo of Ramos on screen. &ldquo;It became the haunting face of a Minneapolis immigration crackdown that left that community reeling. It shows 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos with his Spiderman backpack and bunny hat being detained by an ICE agent while his mom is feet away inside their home.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>CNN&rsquo;s poor audience would be led to believe &ldquo;Little Liam&rdquo; (as he was referred to by another anchor later in the day) was playing in the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >crisp white snow<\/a> when a fed snatched him from his unsuspecting parents, ready for immediate deportation, all while his helpless mother stood by crying. That&rsquo;s not what happened.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, immigration authorities were <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TriciaOhio\/status\/2014498246710657511\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attempting to detain Liam&rsquo;s father<\/a>, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, who was with his son outside their home. The father fled, leaving Liam alone, and when agents tried to unite him with his mother, who was inside, she refused to open the door, effectively leaving the child abandoned, according to the Department of Homeland Security. When the father, Adrian, was eventually captured, he requested that his son go with him to a detention facility, so he did.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s certainly not an ideal situation, and we can thank the last president and the entire Democrat Party for <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/02\/19\/there-is-no-moderate-solution-to-the-extreme-immigration-problem-democrats-created\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">making it possible<\/a>. They&rsquo;re the ones who gave false hope to millions upon millions of destitute foreigners that if they made their way to the U.S., they would be allowed in and could stay. That was never their promise to make, and the 2024 election results were a reminder.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration can keep trying to appease Democrats on immigration enforcement.
