The plaintiffs-referred to as John doe 1 and John Doe 2-say their dismissals occurred over a five-day period between October and November 2025, and that their roles in Arctic Frost were minimal, with one not being a lead investigator and the other performing only supporting tasks. They argue their firings were retaliation for their association with Arctic Frost and that they were terminated after briefings with Patel and, in one case, with then-FBI Deputy Director dan bongino. the Thursday complaint states. &ldquo;Nor were Plaintiffs presented with any <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >evidence purportedly supporting<\/a> their firings or given an opportunity to appeal.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Both ex-FBI agents made the case that they were booted from the bureau solely because they aided Operation Arctic Frost.<\/p>\n<p>The full extent of the investigation was revealed last fall when the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/house-judiciary-committee\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1492\">House Judiciary Committee<\/a> released new records, disclosing that more than 160 Republican operatives, lawmakers, and Trump-aligned figures were under investigation for possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-under-biden-targeted-more-than-160-republican-operatives-and-lawmakers\/\" title=\"... under Biden targeted more than 160 Republican operatives and lawmakers\">2020 election-related crimes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/senate-judiciary-committee\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"872\">Senate Judiciary Committee<\/a> revealed that special counsel <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jack-smith\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"869\">Jack Smith<\/a>, as part of his 2020 election investigation into Trump, issued subpoenas to over 400 Republican individuals and organizations for requested records and communications.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit argues the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/trump-administration\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"339\">Trump administration<\/a> retaliated against the plaintiffs for their affiliation with Arctic Frost even though their involvement was minimal.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Despite his listing as a point of contact, John Doe 1 himself prepared very few Arctic Frost subpoena requests and performed only a minor role in the investigation,&rdquo; the suit states.<\/p>\n<p>John Doe 2 was also not a primary or lead agent assigned to the case. Instead, per the court filing, he served a &ldquo;supporting role, handling tasks such as recording interviews when requested by lead agents or prosecutors, arranging for transcription services for recorded interviews, and keeping track of interview logs and records.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The first agent learned of his termination on Oct. 31, when he received a phone call before taking his children trick-or-treating on Halloween. The second agent was terminated on Nov. 3 after briefing Patel and then-FBI Deputy Director <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/dan-bongino\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1670\">Dan Bongino<\/a> on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ftx-founder-sam-bankman-fried-found-guilty-of-financial-fraud-money-laundering\/\" title=\"FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Convicted of Financial Fraud, Money Laundering\">high-profile fraud case<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Both allege their <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/first-amendment\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"881\">First Amendment rights<\/a> to free association and speech, and their <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fifth-amendment\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"2730\">Fifth Amendment rights<\/a> to due process were violated.<\/p>\n<p>They request that the U.S. District Court for the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/district-of-columbia\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1483\">District of Columbia<\/a> review their firings and grant equitable relief, including reinstatement of their employment at the FBI.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/national-security\/4497198\/fbi-investigating-trump-official-joe-kent\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/national-security\/4497198\/fbi-investigating-trump-official-joe-kent\/\">FBI INVESTIGATING TRUMP OFFICIAL WHO RESIGNED OVER IRAN WAR: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT JOE KENT<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This isn&rsquo;t the first time former FBI agents have sued the Trump administration for wrongful termination.<\/p>\n<p>In December, a dozen agents <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3910821\/fbi-agents-patel-lawsuit-kneeling-george-floyd-protest\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3910821\/fbi-agents-patel-lawsuit-kneeling-george-floyd-protest\/\">claimed<\/a> they were fired for political reasons in September after kneeling during a June 2020 <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/george-floyd\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"757\">George Floyd<\/a> protest as part of a &ldquo;de-escalation response&rdquo; to a mob surrounding them. Patel triggered an internal review of the incident after the Biden administration closed the case.
