Republicans argue the bill would <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/fighting-back-republican-creates-response-to-stacey-abrams-voter-organization-in-georgia-adds-focus-on-election-integrity/" title="Fighting Back: Republican Creates Response To Stacey Abrams... Democrats contend the measure amounts to voter suppression that could disenfranchise millions without the proper documents, and thus oppose it as writen, even as some say they’re not opposed to photo ID in principle. The debate is expected to last for days in a marathon session on the Senate floor, with Republicans aiming to force Democrats to take clear positions and contrast them with Trump-era voting policies, while Democrats vow to use the filibuster to block the measure. Key figures quoted include Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, along with Senators Amy Klobuchar, Tim Kaine, and Josh Hawley, reflecting the strategic calculations as midterm elections approach.

SAVE America Act showdown relished by GOP and Democrats alike

Both political parties have found rare agreement in a divided Washington, convinced that the GOP’s federal voter ID and election bill is a slam-dunk messaging opportunity.

But that’s where the bipartisanship quickly ends.
