He said criticism should focus on legal analysis, not individuals, and that when it becomes personal it crosses a line. Roberts noted that attacks on judges come from across the political spectrum and emphasized that judges work hard to get decisions right.<\/p>\n<p>The remarks come as the judiciary faces renewed scrutiny after recent rulings by Trump appointees Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch that blocked sweeping tariffs. While trump publicly disparaged the court, Roberts stressed the importance of healthy, principled criticism rather than hostility toward the judiciary itself.
