The lawsuit concerns a 1993 allegation by Lorna Beach-Mathura that Adams assaulted her after she sought career advice. Mamdani\u2019s office has also sought to detach the city\u2019s representation from two other sexual assault cases involving Adams\u2019s close allies: aide Timothy Pearson and police official Jeffrey Maddrey. In a broader move against Adams, Mamdani signed executive orders on his first day in office undoing many of Adams\u2019s orders issued after his indictment on corruption charges.
